(72), who was undergoing treatment at the critical care unit of the
Tata Main Hospital
, succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
She was at the medicine ward attending to her son, Srichand Tanti (50), when the balcony on the third floor collapsed on the second. A patient, Sunil Kumar (57), is admitted at the MGMMCH at the bodies of three patients — Tanti, Lukas Simon Tirkey (61), and David Johnson (75) — were recovered from the minister Ifran Ansari has announced Rs 5 lakh ex gratia for the kin of the deceased.
The district administration would ensure that the victims' family members get the ex gratia, said principal Dr Diwakar Hansda said, "The eye, ENT, and dermatology departments would be shifted from the Sakchi building to the 851-bed hospital at Dimna by May 15 in the first stage. Subsequently, the remaining departments would be shifted in phases."Jamshedpur (West) MLA Saryu Roy advised the hospital authorities to first ensure the availability of water at the Dimna campus before shifting all the departments. With 10 deep borewells on the college campus, the new hospital is sourcing 2.5 lakh litres of water daily, whereas the requirement is over 5 lakh litres of water daily, said hospital sources.
