Local 5's Tom Zalaski emcees event honoring volunteers throughout northeast Wisconsin
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Local 5's Tom Zalaski joined the community Wednesday morning as emcee for the annual Volunteer Center Awards ceremony, which was held at the Lambeau Field Atrium. The event honors volunteers who give their time and energy to support others and help local nonprofits fulfill their missions. The building of the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral exhibit at Green Bay Diocese Museum 'We have eight different categories where individuals can win awards,' said Matt Hohner of the Volunteer Center of Brown County. 'A youth award, adult award, lifetime achievement award—there's small group, large group. Birth records reveal All nominees were recognized at the event. Winners received $1,000 and runner-ups received $500—each awarded to the nonprofit of their choice. Neenah Dairy Queen selling blue popcorn to support K9 police units
NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The Dairy Queen in Neenah is going blue for National Police Week by selling Archie's Famous Popcorn dyed in honor of law enforcement. On Thursday only, the Dairy Queen on South Commercial Street will offer the blue-colored popcorn, with all proceeds benefiting the K9 funds for the Neenah, Menasha, and Fox Crossing police departments. The building of the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral exhibit at Green Bay Diocese Museum 'We are so grateful for Dairy Queen's continued support every year,' the Neenah Police Department said in a social media post. 'Stop by and grab a party bag for the office, the whole family, or maybe just yourself.'
