Woman identified in deadly crash in St. Gabriel
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The St. Gabriel Police Department identified a woman who was killed on Louisiana Highway 30 on Sunday morning. According to police, the woman is Katina Perck, 51, of St. Amant. Officers with SGPD were called to a crash on Hwy 30, near Hwy 3115, involving a car and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with serious injuries near the intersection. Perck was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Sean Alteri, 51, of Gonzales, remained at the scene. State Police were notified as Alteri showed signs of impairment. Alteri failed the breathing sample, according to SGPD. Alteri was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on charges of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide. St. Gabriel man dies in crash near East Iberville High School
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A St. Gabriel man died in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, April 15. Patrick Nelson Jr. was killed after his vehicle overturned around 9:37 p.m. near Louisiana Highway 75. The St. Gabriel Police Department, medical responders and the Iberville Parish Coroner's Office were called to the scene, which was not far from East Iberville High School. When they arrived, they found Nelson, Jr. in the overturned vehicle. SGPD said emergency personnel attempted lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and toxicology results are forthcoming. Funeral arrangements set for St. Gabriel Police Officer Darius Faveroth
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Funeral services for the St. Gabriel Police officer that died have been announced. According to the St. Gabriel Police Department, funeral services for Officer Darius Faveroth will be held on Saturday, March 29. The viewing is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the service to immediately follow. The viewing and service will be held at the Iberville Christian Center in St. Gabriel, 4070 LA Hwy 30. Faveroth served as an officer with SGPD for two years, served with the White Castle Police Department for three years and was a Specialist in the Louisiana National Guard. St. Gabriel police investigate after man found near fertilizer supplier dies

According to officials, emergency crews were dispatched to the facility at 5525 LA 3115 at approximately 8:28 a.m. on March 20. Upon arrival, responders discovered an unresponsive male victim. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. The St. Gabriel Police Department, Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office and East Iberville Fire Department responded to the scene, along with the Iberville Parish Coroner's Office. Officials confirmed that the victim's family has been notified. At this time, authorities do not suspect foul play, though the investigation remains ongoing.
