Applications invited for State Television awards
The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy has invited applications for the State Television Awards for the year 2024. Applications are open for television serials, telefilms or documentaries that were broadcast or censored between January 1 and December 31, 2024. Books and articles related to television published during this period will also be considered for the award. The programmes are to be submitted in a hard disc or pen drive. The application form is available in the website or can be collected from the academy's city office functioning at Archana building near School in the capital. The applications have to be submitted before 5 p.m. on June 30 at the academy office or at the city office.

Government to examine resultsof schools with least pass percentage
Only one student each appeared for the SSLC examinations from St. Joseph's School, Peratta, Kannur district, and Government Sanskrit High School, Fort, Thiruvananthapuram district, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said. At a press conference here on Friday, the Minister said at St. Joseph's there were 32 students in Class I, 20 in Class II, 15 in class III, 36 in Class IV, 24 in class V, 21 in Class VI, 19 in Class VII, 21 in Class VIII, and 19 in Class IX, and only one student in class X. At the Fort school, there were three students each in class V and class VI, four students in Class VII, five each in class VIII and class IX and one in class X. The government, he said, has prepared a list of 10 government and aided schools with least pass percentage. Deputy Directors of Education concerned would examine the results of these schools and the reasons for it and submit a report before school reopening on June 2, Mr. Sivankutty said.
