BREAKING NEWS St Andrews Cathedral School where water polo coach Lilie James was murdered is plunged into lockdown over intruder
The private school where water polo coach Lilie James was murdered has been plunged into emergency lockdown after an intruder entered one of its buildings. St Andrew's Cathedral School in Sydney's CBD was locked down by police on Monday morning after the reported break-in. An intruder entered the school's Bishop Barry Centre in Druitt Street, which is part of the campus of St Andrews near Sydney Town Hall. Parents were alerted to the lockdown by a text message from the school. Lilie James was murdered with a hammer by fellow sports coach, Paul Thijssen, on October 25, 2023 in a toilet near the school's staff room. Thijssen then either fell or jumped taking his own life off a cliff at Vaucluse in Sydney's eastern suburbs. Parents of pupils at St Andrews school have been informed that 'everyone is safe' after police conducted a sweep of the buildings, but the school remains in lockdown. More to dom

New indoor skate arena to open in Guernsey
A new skateboarding and BMX arena is set to open in Guernsey at a former swimming pool on Saturday. The Pool House has been built in place of the derelict St Andrews School swimming pool in St designers have made parts of the park movable to change its layout for different routes and jumps as well as ramps and rails around the arena. Tim Gaudion, Guernsey's skateboard development officer, said the new arena "aims to provide a safe and exciting space for beginners or those with more experience". Its funding included £14,400 from the Guernsey Social Investment Fund. The arena is set to open at 12:30 GMT.
