New children's play park in Gartcosh opens to public
The £115,000 project in Gartcosh was led by North Lanarkshire Council's Community Partnership Team.

(Image: Supplied) The play park was designed with the help of pupils from St Barbara's and Gartcosh Primary Schools.
They were asked for their ideas on what the park, located beside Lochside and Blades Court, should include.
Their ideas were used to create the final design for the park, ranging from features such as climbing frames to splash-proof drainage.

Councillor Geraldine Woods, convener of communities, said: "This fantastic new facility is a great new resource for families and children.

"It's brilliant to see just how involved the pupils were, and their excitement about the park says it all."
To celebrate the park's grand opening, children from both primary schools were given goody bags by contractor Kompan before trying out the new equipment.
The project was funded through the council's Local Development Programme and the Scottish Government's Play Park Renewal Fund.
