Man dies in first fatal shooting of 2025 in St. Paul
A man died after being shot in St. Paul Wednesday afternoon, the first fatal shooting of the year in Minnesota's capital.
St. Paul Police Department says the shooting was reported at 2:30 p.m., when a man was admitted to Regions Hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso.
The man was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. despite lifesaving efforts.
Police believe the shooting happened at an apartment complex on the 600 block of Stryker Avenue.
"A suspect is not in custody at this time. There is no threat to the community," St. Paul PD said.
It is the fourth homicide of 2025 in St. Paul, but the first to occur via gunfire.
