M&S shoppers go wild for 'unreal' £3.50 Easter item but have one complaint

As Easter draws closer, shoppers can expect to see supermarket shelves stocked to the brim with hot cross buns. But this year M&S have put a unique twist on the classic Easter treat, and shoppers are going wild for the 'unreal' new item. For £3.50 M&S shoppers can get 6 of the new cocoa buns, each with a 'dippy egg' filling made of creamy chocolate. The post has since gained 3.6K comments with shoppers raving about the 'delicious' treat. M&S shoppers have now been flocking to stores to get the treats themselves, with shopper Stacey Mullins writing on Facebook: 'Bought these this morning - can't wait to try!' Shopper Lottie Monk, also added: 'These look unreal.' A third shopper, Louise Elizabeth, said: 'M&S is calling me again.' The treat is also already receiving reviews from impressed shoppers, with fan Richard Gibbs calling them 'absolutely delicious'. View this post on Instagram A post shared by M&S (@marksandspencer) Skye Turner wrote on Facebook: 'These are really good - went to get some and was very hesitant because I was scared it was going to be too sweet but it's not! Tastes like a doughnut!' The excitement online also appears to have made the treat a highly sought-after item, as shopper Joanna Joyce wrote: 'Tried to get them everyday last week and were all sold out.' But some shoppers have been less impressed with the new craze. Some shoppers have complained about the cost of the treat, with shopper Caroline Matthews writing that the buns are 'not worth the £3.50 price tag'. Shoppers responding to the New Food UK Instagram post have also expressed some criticism, as one shopper, @lucymoo85, wrote: 'Just had these for breakfast and wow they taste as good as they sound but they are very small.' The Dippy Egg Filled Hot Cross Buns can be found in Marks and Spencer Food Halls and on their website while stocks last. M&S Food Halls are expected to expand across the North west with Marks and Spencer announcing a £50m investment into stores across the region.
