Zayn Malik follows Louis Tomlinson on Instagram: What happened between the One Direction stars?
Zayn Malik follows Louis Tomlinson on Instagram: What happened between the One Direction stars? One Direction fans all over the world are rejoicing after some eagle-eyed admirers noticed that Zayn Malik quietly followed Louis Tomlinson on Instagram. The subtle gesture sparked frenzy due to its significance amid long-standing tensions between the former bandmates. Moreover, shortly after Zayn posted a rare selfie in a white tank top and black 'The Last Of Us' cap, marking his return to Instagram following his Stairway to the Sky tour. Louis, notably, liked the post. Fans were quick to speculate on whether this marked a meaningful shift. Once close bandmates in One Direction, Zayn and Louis had a well-documented fallout. Their Twitter spat in 2015, just months after Zayn left the band, made headlines when Louis tweeted at Zayn's collaborator Naughty Boy, prompting Zayn to respond directly with, 'Remember when you had a life and stopped making b*tchy comments about mine?' After the loss of Louis's mother in 2016, he revealed they briefly reconnected. Despite the attempt to mend things, Louis later admitted in 2019, 'Truthfully it never really got better.' However, recent years have shown signs of thawing tensions. In 2022, Zayn shared a video singing 'Night Changes,' prompting Louis to respond, 'It was great to see him reminiscing on the One Direction days.' By January 2025, Louis attended Zayn's LA concert, with Zayn acknowledging his presence: 'An old friend of mine is here for me tonight.' The interactions come just months after the tragic death of their former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne in November 2024. Zayn and Louis along with the other 1D members reunited at Liam's funeral, a deeply emotional moment that brought them all together.

One Direction Reunion on Cards? Excitement Builds as Zayn Malik Follows Louis Tomlinson on Instagram
Zayn Malik has followed Louis Tomlinson on Instagram, and the move has caught the attention of One Direction fans around the world. The subtle gesture happened over the weekend, sparking online buzz and fueling hopes of a possible One Direction reunion. Zayn's decision to hit the follow button came shortly after he posted a rare selfie to his Instagram account on Sunday, May 25. The post was Zayn's first in nearly a month after completing his Stairway to the Sky tour. In the photo, he's seen wearing a white tank top and a black cap with the text HBO Original The Last Of Us, along with a full, bushy beard. The post quickly drew attention, not just for the image but for who reacted to it. Is a One Direction Reunion Really Happening? Fans noticed that Louis Tomlinson liked the post shortly after it went live. This interaction between Zayn and Louis, often referred to as 'Zouis' by fans, triggered a wave of excitement across social media. Many fans shared their reactions. One fan wrote, 'He loves that show, and it's so cute! Also, I love how I went to look on the picture and Louis liked this post. I started crying lol.' Another fan commented, 'AND LOUIS LIKED THE POST QUICK [nodding gesture emoji],' while a third added, 'I'm so happy, I hope we see more Zouis interactions [heart icon]. I think they truly did make up.' This new online interaction comes just a few months after Louis was seen attending Zayn Malik's solo concert in Los Angeles, marking their first public appearance together in nearly a decade. Fans were quick to link the moment to recent events, including the group's loss of bandmate Liam Payne three months ago. The emotional reunion in LA had already reignited hopes for a possible band reunion, and this Instagram follow has only strengthened that feeling. Zayn left One Direction in 2015, and since then, his relationship with the rest of the band, especially Louis, has been believed to be strained. But these recent interactions suggest the two may be moving forward. While there's been no official comment from either singer, the small online gestures are enough to get fans talking.

Yahoo is using AI to generate takeaways from this article. This means the info may not always match what's in the article. Reporting mistakes helps us improve the experience. Generate Key Takeaways Music star Zayn's Stairway to the Sky tour, his first solo tour since leaving One Direction in 2015, launched in the U.S. in October and concluded in March, using innovative approaches to engage superfans, including a 'Zayn VIP Key.' The musician's manager and the team at UTA Music used Fan3 ticketing technology and innovative fan-centric experiences to super-serve Zayn fans rather than online ticket scalpers. More from The Hollywood Reporter Fan3, co-founded by CEO Ross Taylor, is a fan community platform that summarizes its mission as 'Fandom – Data – Anti-Fraud,' describing its focus as creating 'a new entertainment ecosystem rewarding both those that create it, and those that love it.' Zayn and his teams at UTA and ZenKai Management focused on an approach and strategy akin to a fan club experience, leveraging Fan3's next-generation platform to streamline access to presale tickets and elevate superfans' journey leading up to the live shows. With the so-called 'Zayn VIP Key,' superfans were granted exclusive early access, priority perks and a deeper connection with the artist, helping to boost excitement around his comeback. In fact, the technology gave superfans exclusive first access to tickets through mobile wallet passes in what Zayn's team says marks the first time ever this approach has been used for a tour. Fan3 also allowed Zayn's team to collect valuable first-party fan data, giving them opportunities to tailor custom experiences in new ways. Fan3 added an extra layer of security on top of Ticketmaster, AXS and Eventim that prevented scalpers from snatching up tickets for resale on third-party websites. Zayn VIP key The innovative Zayn partnership with Fan3 led to positive results beyond 22 sold-out venues across the U.S., U.K. and Mexico. For example, a total of 78,291 tickets were sold during the VIP Key presale alone, with 343,377 VIP Keys claimed by fans in 211 countries, The Hollywood Reporter can reveal. And only 2.5 percent of tickets sold were reported listed on secondary ticket sites, meaning ticket resale sites. 'Zayn wanted this tour to feel different — more personal, more intentional and closer to the fans,' explains his manager, Nicola Carson of ZenKai Management, to THR. 'We recognized a unique opportunity that aligned with that vision: a way to create a fan club-like experience and build a community without asking fans to pay for access. It was about removing the noise and making space for a deeper, direct connection. Getting the limited tickets we had in the hands of fans was key.' Eddie Clemens, head of tour marketing at UTA, says: 'Zayn x Fan3 really has set a new gold standard for how artists and their teams can use technology to bring fans closer to their favorite artists, while ensuring we're getting them tickets directly — and keeping tickets off of the secondary market.' Taylor lauds Zayn for putting his fans first and his company's 'pioneering technology to tackle a huge music industry problem: getting genuine tickets in the hands of genuine fans.' He describes the results of the partnership as a win-win for fans and the star, concluding that Fan3 allowed Zayn 'to understand and own his data while ensuring his tickets end up in the hands of the people who truly matter: no bots, no scalpers, no fraud.' Zayn Malik's friends 'insist daughter Khai, 4, saved him and helped him turn his life around following concerns for his wellbeing' after One Direction exit
Zayn Malik 's daughter Khai has reportedly been credited with 'saving him' by his friends and motivating him to turn his life around. The singer, 32, welcomed four-year-old daughter Khai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, in September 2020 before the pair called it quits on their romantic relationship for good in October the following year. Since leaving One Direction in March 2015, Zayn has battled crippling anxiety, faced concerns about his drug use and hit the headlines after being filmed during a shirtless altercation in New York. While last year saw him dealing with the tragic death of his former bandmate Liam Payne, leading him to postpone his debut solo tour - the first in a number of delays to the tour. But last month, Zayn successfully completed his Stairway to the Sky shows, concluding in Mexico City with the words: 'We got there'. And now his daughter has been credited with helping him make the 'incredible turnaround', after fears that it could have 'gone so differently', according to The Sun. A source told the publication: 'Friends inside and outside of the music industry are incredibly proud of the man Zayn has become. 'It could have all gone so differently - there have been genuine concerns for him over the years, but the storms he has weathered have given him strength and clarity. 'Finishing the tour was a huge hurdle for him to overcome. It's been an incredible turnaround. Fatherhood has been the making of him. Khai has absolutely saved him.' Last year, Zayn himself explained how fatherhood had changed him, admitting Khai unlocked a love in him he'd never had before. Opening up about his daughter on The Zach Sang Show, he said: 'I feel like my daughter brought that colour back in my life. 'She just makes me happy. I have so much love in me that I didn't have before she was born. 'She laughs all day. She wants to do the silliest things and she gains so much excitement from it. She just has a whole fresh perspective on life that had somewhat become grey for me.' He added: 'She's a force of nature. She's given me maturity. She's forced my sensibility to become this mature father for her, this good responsible role model that takes accountability for their actions and sticks to their work and proves that my word is bond.' Zayn splits custody with supermodel Gigi, 30, who he began dating in 2015, before a brief split in 2018 and again in 2019, and then a final separation in 2021. Their decision to finally call things off once and for all was reportedly caused by tension between Zayn and and Gigi's mother, Yolanda Hadid. Zayn was charged with four counts of harassment after he pleaded no contest to the charges after allegedly pushing Yolanda into a dresser and calling her a 'f*****g Dutch s**t' in September 2021. Court documents revealed that he had to complete 360 days probation in addition to completing an anger management class. However, the former couple seem to have put the drama behind them, with them now sharing an amicable co-parenting relationship. Last month, Gigi shared rare insight into their co-parenting arrangement, saying that despite their split, they're raising their daughter Khai with 'love and camaraderie'. Gracing the cover of Vogue's April 2025 issue, she explained they plan their custody schedules 'months in advance,' and they always 'have each other's backs' when it comes to raising their daughter. Gigi shared that all of her work commitments are planning around the weeks she and Zayn have their daughter. She said: 'Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance. That doesn't mean that it doesn't change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other's backs.' She added that she and Zayn have entered the new phase of their partnership with 'love, and a feeling of camaraderie,' all the while aware that there will always be public interest in their relationship. Alluding to Gigi then went onto allude to a row Zayn had with her mother Yolanda, where the singer was charged with four counts of harassment. She said: 'There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything. And at the end of the day, we're not interested in giving everyone our whole story.' She added: 'What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-parents, but what we've been through together.' The Sun also reports that Zayn has 'come a long way' since his feelings of resentment around One Direction, pointing to his emotional rendition of a 1D song last month. Zayn shot to fame when he competed on The X Factor in 2010 and the judges put him into the boyband alongside Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. However, he left fans devastated in 2015 when he sensationally announced he was leaving the boyband in a bid to be a 'normal' then 22-year-old. But during one of his final tour gigs last month, Zayn sent fans wild by performing Night Changes - the first One Direction song he'd performed in 10 years. While the date of the gig showed a special significance, with 25 March being the exact date he left the boyband, a decade ago. He delighted fans by belting out the 2014 track as a surprise opener, with clips online showing the crowd erupting into screams as he sang the first line. And after the rendition, Zayn was emotional as he told the crowd: 'I haven't sung this song in 10 years. Thank you, that was amazing, I almost cried.' And a source told The Sun: 'When Zayn first went solo, there's no way he would have wanted to sing a 1D song. Now, he's not afraid to admit it almost brought him to tears. He's come a long way'.

Zayn Malik Cancels Show After Severe Food Poisoning Hits Him And His Crew
was forced to pull the plug on his scheduled performance in Mexico City on Friday, March 28, after a severe case of food poisoning sidelined both him and members of his tour crew. The cancellation comes during Zayn Malik's "Stairway to the Sky" Tour, which kicked off in November 2024 and marks his first tour in several years. 'I'm heartbroken to say that I won't be able to perform tonight in Mexico City,' the singer shared via Instagram Stories just hours before showtime. 'I've been really sick since this morning and, despite trying everything to push through, my body just isn't allowing it.' Malik expressed his regret over the cancellation, adding, 'I'm so sorry to let you down. The love and energy I always feel from my fans mean the world to me, and it hurts deeply to miss this moment with you. Thank you for your understanding, and please know I'm sending all of my love to each of you.' Later that evening, he gave fans a health update, revealing the extent of the illness. 'Mexico, I love you even though myself and many of my crew got severe food poisoning,' Malik wrote. 'It's no joke. [I'm] still struggling.' The former member also issued another heartfelt apology to fans who had planned to attend the show. 'To my fans, I'm so sorry, these shows have made me feel alive, happy, grateful and at home, and that's all because of you,' he said. 'These shows, your energy, your fan projects filled me with so much love and a feeling I can't even describe. Big love.' Speaking about the tour during a May 2024 appearance on SiriusXM's "The Morning Mashup," Malik said, 'I don't want to play a character, you know. I want to be me, and it takes longer and takes more self-reflection and it's a longer process.' He continued, 'So, I think, you know, when people have a deadline and they want to get things out for a business sense, that would make sense, you know, for you to make things that fit different character backdrops or whatever, but for me, I just want it to feel genuine and like it comes from me. It's always the main intention behind my creation.' Unfortunately, this isn't the first time health issues have interfered with the tour. Back in December 2024, Malik canceled his scheduled performance at O2 City Hall Newcastle due to vocal problems. 'I'm so sorry to do this, but my voice just isn't there at all tonight and without it there's no show. I'm truly sorry to let you down, especially at short notice,' he wrote at the time. 'I held onto hope until the very last moment. I'm hopeful with some rest tonight I'll be back on stage tomorrow. My deepest apologies Newcastle love you all xx.' The sudden and tragic death of has reportedly brought his One Direction bandmates, , Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, closer than they've been in nearly a decade. Once bound by global fame and boy band brotherhood, the group had drifted apart in the years following their 2016 hiatus. But now, a shared grief has created a powerful reconnection. According to Us Weekly, Payne's passing served as a major wake-up call for the former bandmates, who had kept in touch only sporadically in recent years. '[Liam's death] was a wake-up call for all of them,' a source revealed. 'Prior, they kept in touch sporadically but didn't have close friendships at all.' That dynamic has now changed. '[They] are checking in on each other and feel closer than they have in years,' the insider continued. 'It brought them back together.' One Direction was formed in 2010 on the UK edition of "The X Factor," where famously brought the five solo artists together to form the group. What followed was a meteoric rise to global superstardom, filled with chart-topping albums, sold-out stadium tours, and a legion of devoted fans.
