Emergency services included a trauma team, two ambulances and an air ambulance rushed to the scene on Firthview Terrace, Ardrossan at 9.32am this morning. ‌ The patient was flown to nearby Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock. ‌ The air ambulance had to land near to Stanley Park Primary School just a short distance away from Firthview Terrace. Pictures from the scene show the chopper stationed on a patch of grass next to the school. A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: 'We received a call at 09:32 to attend an incident on Firthview Terrace, Ardrossan. "We dispatched two ambulances and an air ambulance with a trauma team to the scene. We transported one patient via air ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.' The incident comes just hours after the tragic death of man on Saltcoats Beach, just a few miles along the road. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. ‌ Speaking to the Record, one local man described seeing a helicopter hovering over Saltcoats and Ardrossan beaches this afternoon. He shared an image of the helicopter stationary at the beach's promenade A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 2.55 pm on Thursday, June 19, we received a report of a man taking unwell on the beach at Saltcoats, close to Montgomerie Crescent. "Emergency services attended and a 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. "His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
