Newlywed doctors prescribe themselves a cosy Kowloon Tong haven
For medical doctors Jade Li and Stanton Ho, home needed to be more than just a place to sleep – it had to be a space that supported recovery and connection. And it had to be calm.

Their newly renovated 900 sq ft flat in Kowloon Tong is exactly that. Designed by
interior designer Joyce Taufer as a quiet, minimalist retreat, the apartment reflects their need for order and comfort after long, often unpredictable workdays.
The two-bedroom, one-bathroom flat is also a return to Ho's roots – he grew up in the same building, in a unit one floor below. The couple chose to stay close to family while beginning a new chapter as newlyweds, with their cat, Tigger, and dog, Milo.
'It was a difficult place to start with,' says Li, 'because the previous owner spent a fortune renovating. But it just wasn't what we liked.'

Li, a long-time follower of Taufer's work on Instagram, says she decided to approach the designer despite their modest budget. Renovation began in March 2024, a month after Li and Ho bought the flat, and the couple moved in just before their wedding last October.
