Top postcard print picks from New Look, Nobody's Child and more

Minimalist fashion fans, look away now, this trend it all about dopamine dressing, playful prints and bold colourways As a fashion writer, I've learned to spot a trend from a mile away, and this summer there's one print that's been dominating my social media, high street window shopping sessions and online scrolls. There's no denying that for SS25, it's all about postcard prints. What is the postcard print? Well, I'm glad you asked. This playful design is characterised vibrant boxes or stamp-shapes adorned with feel-good, summer emblems such as fruit, suns, shells, tiles, florals, palm trees, olives - it's the fashion equivalent of a picky tea of all your warm-weather favourites, packaged in the style of a retro holiday scrapbook. The combination of colour, cheerful prints and a healthy dose of nostalgia make this a real standout trend, and one that's incredibly wearable. That said, it's not a style movement for those who favour minimalism and neutrals, which is worth bearing in mind. However, who's not to say they won't be tempted by some of my top picks. I've picked out four of the best postcard printed pieces available now on the high street, from favourites like Joanie, Nobody's Child and New Look. From dreamy dresses to cool and casual co-ords, here are four picks that prove postcard print is this summer's hero trend. Joanie Ithaca Postcard Print Boilersuit – £79 The postcard print was practically made for Joanie's vintage-inspired designs, and their Ithaca boilersuit is an easy, one-and-done outfit that makes summer styling a breeze. Made from organic cotton with a soft stretch, it's tailored for all day comfort without sacrificing style. Coming in sizes 8-26, the one-piece boasts a classic collar and short sleeves with an all-over watercolour postcard print. But don't be fooled into believing this is only good for warm weather dressing, because I've seen many fashion enthusiasts layer these boilersuits over a long sleeve t-shirt or rollneck for a spring or autumn vibe. You might struggle to style the sunshine-y print in the depths of winter, though. The elasticated waist is a big bonus, making it a flattering fit for all body types, while the pockets make it as practical as it is pretty. Plus shoppers have been raving about it, with one commenting: 'Love this jumpsuit, the watercolour print is beautiful, the material is quality and it fits like a dream.' Another added: 'Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! The print is beautiful the size I went up a size otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get on and off as I'm big busted and a big girl. It look so gorgeous on and I can't wait to wear it out.' Nobody's Child Starlight Midi Dress – £110 For something a little less kitsch, Nobody's Child offers a more contemporary take on the trend with their bestselling design - the Starlight dress. Available in sizes 6-18, it wins wearers over with romantic puff sleeves, covered buttons and a waist panel that skims in all the right places. The low v-neck is super flattering, and it even has pockets, meaning it ticks all the boxes of a summer statement piece. While Nobody's Child's website doesn't have any reviews, we did find some at Simply Be and John Lewis, with one shopper commenting: 'I'm absolutely obsessed with this dress. It fits perfectly - I usually wear a size 14, but the size 12 is spot on! The material is ridiculously soft and feels amazing against my skin. Plus, the gorgeous fruit stamp design is just the perfect touch. I'm so in love with this purchase! Five stars isn't enough - I'd give it ten stars if I could.' However, another added that the linen-heavy fabric, while ideal for the warm weather, is prone to creasing. They added: 'The dress is so different, in a good way, and the quality is fantastic. My only concern, which is my fault as I didn't read all of the description, is that there's a high content of linen which obviously makes the material very creased. Because there's so much dress, it'll be quite a chore to iron, or I could pay to get it professionally ironed, which would make it the dress that keeps on taking! Apart from that, it is a lovely, unusual dress which I'd definitely recommend.' New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress – £34.99 As beautiful as the Nobody's Child dress is, there's no denying it carries a more premium price tag, as such, I've found a more affordable alternative in this New Look Cream Postcard Print Midi Dress for £34.99. Featuring tie detail at the neckline and flowy sleeves, it's decorated with a gorgeous postcard print. Coming in sizes 6-20, it's an easy piece to throw on and feel instantly pulled together. Its only review so far is five stars, with a happy customer praising its "flattering' fit, 'good length', and 'lovely light material." ASOS DESIGN Postcard Print Shirt and Trouser Co-ord – £24 (top), £26 (trousers) If dresses aren't your style, a co-ord is a super cool way to wear the trend, and ASOS is delivering all the chilled-out, coastal-grandpa vibes with this two-piece set. It comes in four sizes ranging from XS to L and is made from a lightweight linen-look fabric. The trousers offer a wide-leg silhouette and bloat-friendly drawstring waist, while the shirt's revere collar makes for a relaxed but put-together look. It's a really versatile two-piece that looks amazing worn together or split up. Perfect for packing light - or just looking like you did.

Boden has launched a massive sale with 25 percent off everything - but not for long. The upcoming weather may potentially be about to take a turn for the worse. However, that doesn't mean it's time to pack away our summer wardrobe just yet. With the warmer season on the horizon, we expect the higher temperatures will come back again at some point. And when they do, we have spotted one dress that is perfect for every outdoors event. It's the Maddie Trim Jersey Dress from high street firm Boden and it is said to be "deserving of picnics, days on a pier and big heaped bowls of strawberries and cream". Even better, it's currently on sale. The fashion firm is offering 25 per cent off everything online with the code 7N7G until 23:59pm on Monday, May 26. With the Maddie dress costing £80, the total price will be reduced to £60, saving £20 off the RRP. Crafted from a flowy cotton and tencel blend material, fashion fans have said that it is a "light" and "airy" frock, making it a must-have for those balmy days, whether that be on holiday in a warmer climate or here in the UK. Maddie Trim Jersey Dress £80 £60 Boden Buy here Product Description Falling to a mid-calf length, it has been designed in a flattering fit-and-flare shape that is said to "hug in all the right places". It's complete with short, flowy sleeves, a chic v-neckline and two handy side pockets. Paired with sandals and a lightweight layer such as a denim jacket, it is perfect for wearing to BBQ's, picnics and even days out with friends. Available as both a petite and regular, the Maddie Dress is available to buy in sizes four through to 20 in three colours - pink, green and blue. There's also a polka dot pattern, although that is a tad pricier at £86, £64.50 with the discount code. Another pick from the high street that will come in handy for any outdoors events this summer is the Nobody's Child Green Short Sleeve Starlight Midi Dress, available in a similar design for £85. Alternatively, Next also offers a wide selection of comfy clothing must-haves that are equally flattering and stylish, with the Joules Nia Multi V-Neck Dress priced at £45. Nevertheless, those keen to take advantage of the Boden sale can read through a selection of reviews for the Maddie Trim Jersey Dress that have hailed it as "a dream" and also "another winner" from the brand. Fashion deal of the week Looking for a new wardrobe staple that will be comfortable all summer long? The Next's Wide Leg Trousers with linen might be up your street. In fact, they are so popular with other shoppers who say they "can't wait" to wear them when the weather heats up. Available in a selection of colours and prints, there is a pair for everyone. However, prices do range from as low as £22 to £49, but this does depend on the style that shoppers select. Ideal for balmy days, these trousers have been designed in a looser fit than usual and have been crafted from a soft material with added linen. Boasting the on-trend wide-leg design, it's no wonder shoppers are calling them "very comfortable" to wear. They also feature an elasticated waistband that won't dig into the stomach, while two practical side pockets finish the design. A hit for summer, these linen trousers can be paired with flip-flops, loose fitting tops and even swimwear when by the beach. Available in both petite and regular, they can be bought in sizes eight through to 20. Just a few options shoppers can choose from include a basic black, red and chocolate brown, while vibrant patterns of palm trees and florals are also included. Multiple colours of the Next trousers boast glowing reviews, as one reads: "Lovely flowing cut, very flattering. Can't wait to wear these when the weather is better!" A second shopper praised: "Great fit. Very flattering. Can be dressed up or down for day or night wear." One delighted shopper said: "This dress is a dream! The sleeves are my favorite part. I'd love to see other colors like a tan, mauve, or olive green." A second gushed: "I'm delighted with this dress! The green is rich and bright without being too harsh or loud. I'm short (5' 3") and curvy (~140) with most of the curves in the hips. Size 6 is perfect for me -- hugs in all the right places, with a nice flowy skirt. Can't wait to wear it this summer." Someone else happy with their purchase added: "Another winner. This dress is so easy, yet elevated. The blue color is gorgeous. It is light, airy, and fits like a dream." One shopper who criticised the design of the sleeves wrote: "Such a shame. The colour is gorgeous - a teal/ blue- and the fit for me in an 8P is perfect. But the sleeves are out of proportion if you're petite. They 'take over' . I looked to see if they could be made narrower, but it wouldn't be easy." By comparison, someone who liked the sleeve design said in their review: "Really nice drape! Because I'm extra short, the hem is tea length on me, which I love. The waist is perfect, and the sleeves are very flattering." Boden's Maddie Trim Jersey Dress can be bought here. The price will only be discounted to £60 with code 7N7G until 23:59pm on Monday, May 26.
