Fried received 78% of votes on the first ballot. 'I'm honored to serve another term as Chair of the Florida Democratic Party,' said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. 'I thank the members of the State Executive Committee for the faith they have placed in me to continue to lead the Florida Democratic Party.' When Fried was first elected in 2023, she had committed to rebuilding the FDP after heavy losses in the 2022 election. She focused on year-round organizing, long-term party infrastructure, and providing any support needed for candidates. Despite a national rightward trend in 2024, FDP under Fried had helped re-elect Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and elect candidates at local levels across the state. Prior to her experience with the FDP, Fried was the Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services from 2019-2023, the first woman elected to that office in the South. She also served as Florida's only statewide elected Democrat at the time. As Commissioner, she helped develop the state hemp industry, worked for LGBTQ equality, and seemed to improve the gun licensing process.
