Gray Media Promotes Mark Little to General Manager of KWQC in the Quad Cities
ATLANTA, April 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gray Media announced today the promotion of Mark Little to General Manager of KWQC, the NBC affiliate in Davenport, Iowa, serving the Quad Cities market, effective May 1, 2025. For the past three years, Mark has served as the News Director of WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. Mark has been a distinguished leader in local television stations for more than 30 years. He has led newsrooms in Missouri, South Carolina, and Mississippi. Through his years of service, Mark has earned Station of the Year, Regional Emmy, and Murrow awards. He has partnered with a local university to establish a news presence in an underserved region of Iowa and has been recognized as one of the first news directors to introduce podcasting for local news. Mark has served on boards for the American Red Cross and United Way and is a member of RTDNA and IRE. WMU's student-run radio station named best in the U.S.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The team from Western Michigan University's campus radio station has been recognized on a big stage. The team at was recently named the Best Overall Station at the 2024-2025 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards. Sign up for the News 8 daily newsletter Cully Cooper, the general manager for the student-run station, credited the entire staff for earning the recognition. 'This was a team effort from every individual who makes 89.1 WIDR-FM so unique and beautiful,' Cooper . 'I'm so excited to be a part of this wonderful team and know that being named the top college station in the nation will motivate us to just keep getting better.' In addition to the top prize, WIDR also won Best Logo and Best Artist Interview. According to the university, WMU student media has been nominated for 41 IBS awards since 2017 and has won 12.
