iGA's ID Card Center at Seef Mall Arad Achieves Gold Shield in Taqyeem 5

Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, Vice Chairperson of the Government Service Centers Evaluation Committee (Taqyeem), presented the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) with the Gold Shield in recognition of the ID Card Center's Seef Mall – Arad branch's Gold Category classification in the fifth edition of the Taqyeem Government Service Center Evaluation Program. In attendance were committee members, the administrative team, and the judging panel. iGA's Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry, Ms. Dua'a Sultan Mohamed, expressed her appreciation for the recognition, emphasizing that it reflects the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his directives to advancing efficiency and excellency in government services that meet citizens' expectations and enhance the overall customer experience. Ms. Sultan commended the continuous support of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), that has been key to empowering the iGA in enhancing service quality, advancing government operations, and promoting innovation. iGA's Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry noted that the ID Center's fourth Gold Category award reflects the team's dedication to improving performance and maximizing customer satisfaction. They addressed feedback from the previous evaluation cycle and implemented comprehensive development plans that significantly enhanced service quality. Ms. Dua'a stated that the ID Card Center in Seef Mall – Arad earned the Gold Category by meeting key criteria, including easy access, clear procedures, and multiple service channels, both in-person and digitally. These factors demonstrate the center's efficiency, flexibility, and strong customer focus, meeting international standards and responding actively to user feedback through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), as well as meeting other benchmarks. Ms. Sultan reaffirmed the iGA's commitment to achieving its objectives, enhancing the competitiveness of government service centers, and fostering innovation to improve customer experience. She also praised the team's dedication and strong work ethic that led to this notable achievement.

TDT | Manama The Statistics and Population Registry sector has achieved several key milestones in 2024, representing a significant step toward enhancing transparency and data quality. This was emphasised by His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), who said that these achievements have contributed to the strategic decision-making of the Kingdom of Bahrain, supporting comprehensive and sustainable development. Al Qaed highlighted the continuous support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Guidance He also lauded the guidance of H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), which has accelerated digital transformation, adoption of advanced technologies, and developing readiness to implement government policies in alignment with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Al Qaed noted that ID card and population registry statistics for 2024 revealed over 900,000 transactions completed related to ID, population, civil records, and address services, out of which 95% were completed through digital channels. He said that most of the transactions conducted at the service centres were related to biometric data collection and signatures. The ID card issuance and renewal marked 405,000 transactions in addition to 33,000 birth and death certificate requests and over 15,000 address service transactions. eServices Al Qaed also highlighted that iGA launched several new eServices via Bahrain's National Portal ( including updating household status online using the eKey, in addition to adding a QR code to verify ID card statements.

Information & eGovernment Authority (IGA) announced yesterday that citizens and residents can now access ID card and birth certificate eServices through the MyGov app, as part of efforts to enhance accessibility and ensure seamless transactions. The launch marks the first phase of integrating these services into the unified digital platform. The first phase of MyGov includes ID card services such as issuing and renewing ID cards, obtaining replacements for lost or damaged cards, and tracking application status. These services are among the most widely used, with an annual average exceeding 700,000 transactions, both in-person and online. Having them available in a single app for the first time allows users to complete transactions more easily. Additionally, the app enables users to view their birth certificates, along with the ID cards of their children under 18 and domestic workers. Duaa Sultan Mohammed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry at the iGA, described the move as a significant step in Bahrain's digital transformation, ensuring streamlined access to key government services. She confirmed that future phases will expand the range of available services while maintaining international standards for customer service and user experience. Launched by H.E. iGA Engages in Global Statistical Development at UN Commission Session

New York City: Duaa Sultan Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry, and Shatha Mohammed Ismaeel, Acting Director of the Economic Statistics Directorate at the Information and eGovernment Authority, took part in the 56th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission in New York City. The event gathered statisticians and policymakers from member states to discuss strategies and methodologies for enhancing statistical practices globally. According to Bahrain News Agency, the session included a series of meetings and parallel sessions, prominently featuring discussions with the GCC States Center and a follow-up meeting related to the 13th session of the Islamic Cooperation Statistical Committee. Participants addressed a variety of issues encompassing economic, demographic, social, geographic, and environmental statistics. The agenda highlighted the importance of data and indicators related to the Post-2030 Sustainable Development Goals, data foresight, open data, the utilization of big data for official statistics, and the effective management and updating of statistical systems. Key topics of the session also focused on methodologies and preparation techniques within the realm of statistics, reflecting on the latest developments and their implications. The Deputy Chief Executive acknowledged and congratulated the United Arab Emirates on its new membership in the United Nations Statistical Commission, underscoring its significance in strengthening the Arab and Gulf statistical presence on a global scale. This development aims to enhance national statistical systems crucial for achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
