Stephan Thoennissen has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) at NUMA Group
NUMA Group, Europe's leading fully digitalized hospitality platform, today announced the appointment of Stephan Thoennissen as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. In his new role, Thoennissen will be instrumental in
scaling NUMA's core business, advancing the company's organizational development, and establishing new local subsidiaries. This strategic appointment comes as NUMA continues its strong growth trajectory across Europe.
Thoennissen brings a wealth of experience in building and scaling fast-growing, tech- enabled companies. He has a proven track record in digital brand building, notably contributing to the success of Berlin Brands Group, which achieved an exit valuation exceeding $1 billion.
During his tenure in leadership roles, including Chief Commercial Officer at Berlin Brands Group, he played a pivotal role in acquiring a substantial client base through platforms such as Amazon and eBay. Thoennissen plans to apply this expertise to further enhance NUMA's presence on Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), such as
NUMA Group recently concluded a groundbreaking year in 2024, serving over 1 million nights and achieving over 100% revenue growth compared to 2023. The company, now present in 36 European cities across 15 countries, plans for continued strong national and international growth in 2025, targeting an additional €80 million in revenue and approximately €50 million in Gross Operating Profit. NUMA's success is built on its proprietary technology platform, which leverages AI to automate operations and enhance guest experiences, redefining modern travel.
