Mon County woman sentenced on meth, fentanyl charges

MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — A Monongalia County woman who previously pleaded guilty to drug possession will now spend more than a decade behind bars. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Stephanie Ann Allen, 34, will spend 12 years, seven months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Court documents said law enforcement officers saw Allen engage in 'suspicious activity' in the parking lot of the High Life Lounge in Morgantown, prompting a search of her vehicle. During the search, officers located 73 grams of meth, as well as seven grams of fentanyl. 'Tip of the iceberg': Amended civil suit alleges corruption in Bridgeport While being processed at the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, deputies said Allen attempted to 'flush other bags of both heroin and methamphetamine down a toilet,' according to a criminal complaint from 2022. The release said Allen has a history of various other crimes, including burglary, robbery and drug possession. Allen is set to serve three years of supervised release following her sentence. The Mon Metro Drug Task Force investigated this incident, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted on behalf of the government. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Binghamton Women's Lacrosse looks to pick up where they left off

VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – As 2025 is in full swing and the Spring academic season is here, more sports are kicking off around the area, including Lacrosse. The team kicked off their season with a Monday scrimmage against Saint Francis to get ready for the season's action, where they won 15-3. Next, they will kick off the action with non-conference play, where they will face off against Villanova out of the Big East on the road in Pennsylvania on Saturday. 'We've worked hard to build a strong foundation and focused on family, focused on culture, and focused on work ethic and mentality,' said Head Coach Stephanie Allen. Last season the Bearcats finished 12-7 overall and 5-1 in conference, only falling to Albany in conference play which they then beat in the America East championship, signing their ticket to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Yale in the first round. 'It puts a lot more responsibility on us having that target on our back, but I think that a lot of girls on our team are really excited to now be part of the team,' said Senior Midfielder Angelina Suau. The team is prepared going forward to be the hunted, instead of just hunting coming off winning the Conference tournament crown. 'Looking forward, I feel like we're all really pumped up knowing that we can show what we practice throughout the Fall,' said Senior Attack Olivia Muscolino. Looking to pick up where they left off with their first-ever conference title and first appearance in program history in the NCAA tournament, following their game against the Wildcats they will host the Colgate Raiders next Wednesday in their home opener.
