Downtown Erie businesses team up for first Winter Soup Stroll
For those who had a case of the winter blues, downtown Erie was supplied with the perfect remedy.
The Flagship City Food District teamed up with downtown brick-and-mortar businesses for the first-ever winter soup stroll.
People were able to visit seven different stores for a soup sample. Testers were also able to vote for the 'best soup' winner.
Stephanie Hunt, the owner of Copper Carriage came up with this idea as a way to get people out of their homes during the winter season.
'I know with the weather than we have had this winter, everybody is kind of tired of being cooped up so it's a great way just to get everybody downtown and visiting the boutiques and the stores and the restaurants when it might be a slow time of year for us,' she said.
This event was a part of Erie's Winter Carnival and took place from noon to 4 p.m.
