ASTA hires director of communications
ASTA has named a director of communications, Margo Van Ness, as well as a senior manager of ASTA Corporate, Stephanie Kent.
Margo Van Ness
Van Ness has spent 15 years in communications and media relations, holding senior roles with Vail Resorts and U.S. Ski and Snowboard.
Tasked with overseeing ASTA's internal and external communications strategy, Van Ness reports to Michael Schottey, vice president of membership, marketing and communications.
Kent joins ASTA with nearly 30 years of experience, holding global sales and account management roles with Delta Air Lines, Air France, Singapore Airlines, Protravel, Omega World Travel and CWT.

In her new role, Kent will focus on ASTA's initiative that supports corporate travel agencies. ASTA Corporate is led by executive vice president Mark Meader.
ASTA also recently welcomed three other new hires: Krystle Kimes, senior coordinator of marketing and communications; Megan Basile, coordinator of membership sales fulfillment; and Jackson Bell, advocacy coordinator. Kimes was formerly a broadcast journalist. Basile joins ASTA from tech industry sales, operations and strategic campaign work. Bell, who worked in political organizing and lobbying, comes to ASTA from the Vogel Group.
