Homage paid to Pope Francis
Prayers and tributes were paid to the late Pope Francis in Thoothukudi under the leadership of Bishop Stephen Antony on Monday.
Pope Francis, 88, passed away on Easter Monday. Following his demise, Bishop Stephen Antony instructed that mourning bells be rung at 4 p.m. on Monday in all catholic churches across the district.
Bells were rung in all catholic churches, including the Our Lady of Snow Basilica and the Sacred Heart Cathedral here to pay respects to Pope Francis.
The Bishop paid homage to the portrait of Pope Francis as a mark of respect at Bishop's House in Thoothukudi.
