Police identify suspect in Rockford house party murder, currently at large
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police are searching for 35-year-old Stephen Boddie, the prime suspect in the murder of a 19-year-old man at a Rockford house party last week.
According to the Rockford Police Department, the victim was killed in in the 900 block of 4th Avenue around 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th.
Officers arriving on the scene found both 19-year-old Dejuante Poe and an unnamed 20-year-old man who had been shot following a house party in which a fight broke out and Boddie allegedly opened fire.
Poe died a short time later at a local hospital.
Boddie has been charged with First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery.
He is currently at large and wanted by police.
