How library lovers can advocate for more library funding in New York State

N.Y. (WETM) – February is Library Lovers Month, and as the month slowly comes to a close, the Southern Tier Library System is encouraging local library lovers to participate in its initiative to advocate for more funding for libraries in New York State. In the spirit of library advocacy season, library lovers across the Southern Tier are banding together to encourage state legislators to provide more funding for libraries by sending them postcards detailing why their libraries mean so much to them and why they deserve more funding from the state. Steuben County Clerk launches alert system to prevent deed fraud If you're interested in filling out a postcard to send to your local representatives, you can do so by visiting your local library or completing one online through the following form. All physical postcards will be delivered to the legislators before the final budget is passed. In addition to filling out a postcard, you can also visit an STLS library to take a photo with the 'I ❤️ Libraries' sign and show your support for your local library. To learn how you can participate in advocating for libraries year-round, you can join the STLS Library Advocate mailing list here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
