NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WFRV) – A Police Sergeant in Wisconsin was charged on Wednesday with multiple crimes, including felony Misconduct in Public Office, stemming from an investigation into missing drugs. According to the New Berlin Police Department, Sergeant Steve Dodson, a 20-year department veteran, was identified as a suspect in the investigation back in December 2024 when he was placed on administrative leave. Dodson was charged with an operating while intoxicated offense and possession of a firearm while intoxicated, stemming from an arrest on Tuesday when he reportedly drove into a median on I-43. This incident was separate from the drug case.
