Access Family Care talks Trump's prescription price cuts
(KODE & KSN) — A new presidential executive order could mean prescription drug prices are in for some big changes. President Trump has set a 30-day deadline for lower medication prices with a threat of new limits down the road if that doesn't happen. Steve Douglas with Access Family Care says that could make a huge difference for many of their clients, as well as southwest Missouri patients in general. He adds it's too early to know the specific impact, but it's important that it's now a priority. 'I know a lot of people know their medications are expensive, but I don't think they fully understand how expensive. And for me personally, I take a blood pressure medication. I went on a trip last year to France. That same medication in France, I found a pharmacy there for $30 and in the United States, I paid $312 without insurance for it. And it struck me as, 'Why is it so much less in France than it is here?' said Douglas. Medicare alone spends hundreds of billions of dollars on prescription drugs, meaning there could be substantial savings for taxpayers if drug prices drop. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Man City's surprising draw at Southampton throws Champions League hopes into doubt
Manchester City's Champions League qualification ambitions were thrown back into doubt on Saturday after a surprising 0-0 draw at already-relegated Southampton, the Premier League's last-placed team. It could prove to be two crucial dropped points for third-placed City in a six-team race for the four remaining spots to get into the Champions League, along with champion Liverpool. Even Erling Haaland's return after a six-week absence because of injury couldn't inspire City, which dragged itself into a better position in the league on the back of four straight wins. City had two points more than Newcastle and Chelsea — who meet at St. James' Park on Sunday — and four more than Nottingham Forest, which hosts already-relegated Leicester on Sunday. Seventh-placed Villa was a further point back and visits Bournemouth later Saturday. City's unprecedented four-year reign as champion was ended by Liverpool this season. The draw lifted Southampton onto 12 points — one more than the lowest ever points haul in a single season, set by Derby County in 2007-08. ___ Steve Douglas is at ___ AP soccer:

Man United loses again in Premier League as Newcastle salvages a point in top-five race
Manchester United slumped to a club record-extending 16th Premier League loss this season on Sunday, while Champions League-chasing Newcastle needed an 89th-minute penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw at Brighton. United was beaten 4-3 at Brentford in a wild, end-to-end game played in between matches against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semifinals. United manager Ruben Amorim fielded the club's youngest ever Premier League lineup according to average age, with Europe clearly the priority this season ahead of improving his team's woeful league position of 15th. United, on 39 points, is already certain to set its worst-ever total in the Premier League, as well as record its lowest finish. More important for Amorim will be protecting the 3-0 lead over Bilbao from the first leg in Spain going into the return match at Old Trafford on Thursday. One positive for United was the return from injury of winger Amad Diallo, who scored the third goal in stoppage time as the visitors came from 4-1 down but couldn't find an equalizer. A first-half goal by Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh — a former Newcastle player — looked like seeing off his old club, only for Alexander Isak to convert a late penalty. Newcastle could have climbed to third place but now is in danger of being caught by teams below in the race for a top-five finish. Newcastle is in fourth place and three points ahead of Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. Chelsea, which hosts already-crowned champion Liverpool later Sunday, and Forest, which visits Crystal Palace on Monday, have yet to play this round. Also Sunday, West Ham drew 1-1 with Tottenham, which is also in the Europa League semifinals and beat Norwegian team Bodø/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg on Thursday. ___ Steve Douglas is at ___ AP soccer: Steve Douglas, The Associated Press

Champions League semifinals: Barcelona-Inter revives memories of 2010 epic and Arsenal hosts PSG
The free-flowing attack of Barcelona comes up against the rugged, smothering defense of Inter Milan in the Champions League semifinals. Ring any bells? Go back to 2010 — when Lamine Yamal was not even 3 years old and Lionel Messi was close to his prime — and Camp Nou was the scene of one of the most memorable matches in Champions League history, between the same teams going head-to-head there again on Wednesday. Protecting a 3-1 lead from the first leg, Inter — coached at the time by Jose Mourinho — delivered a defensive masterclass against Pep Guardiola's Barcelona to survive with 10 men for more than an hour and lose just 1-0 to progress to the title match. Memories will come flooding back ahead of the rematch this week, especially with the two protagonists owning the same traits as 15 years ago. Barcelona is back in the Champions League semifinals for the first time since the 2018-19 season, on the back of by far the best attack in the new-look, 36-team league stage. With Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski up front, Barca scored 28 goals in eight games — and has netted nine more goals in eliminating Benfica and Borussia Dortmund in the knockouts. Then there's Inter, the Italian champion, which conceded just once in eight games in the first stage and held on grimly to oust Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. Inter won the 2010 final, against Bayern, for a third European Cup title so its run toward the final this season has echoes of that title-winning campaign. Arsenal vs. Paris Saint-Germain While the Barcelona-Inter Milan semifinal is awash with history, this one seems relatively fresh. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have met just three times in the Champions League and never in the knockout stage. One of those occasions was this season, when Arsenal won 2-0 at Emirates Stadium. And it's at home that the Gunners play on Tuesday in the first leg, hoping to reproduce the exploits that saw them beat defending champion Real Madrid in both legs in the quarterfinals. Their opponents, however, are aiming to eliminate an English opponent for the third straight round, after seeing off Liverpool and — less impressively — Aston Villa. With its 'galacticos' — Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Messi — long gone, PSG is bidding to win a first Champions League title by going with talented up-and-coming players instead. Arsenal is also striving to become European champion for the first time, having not reached the semis since 2009. ___ Steve Douglas is at ___ AP soccer: Steve Douglas, The Associated Press

Chelsea beats Everton 1-0 in Premier League to move into Champions League spots
Chelsea climbed into the Champions League qualification positions by beating Everton 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday thanks to Nicolas Jackson's first-half goal. Jackson scored from just outside the area in the 27th minute to secure back-to-back victories for Chelsea, which moved above Newcastle and Nottingham Forest into fourth place and one point behind third-place Manchester City. Later Saturday, Newcastle can go back above Chelsea and into third by winning at home against Ipswich, which would be relegated as a result. There are three more Premier League games — Wolverhampton vs. Leicester, Southampton vs. Fulham and Brighton vs. West Ham — while Aston Villa plays Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium in the first of the FA Cup semifinals. ___ Steve Douglas is at ___ AP soccer: Steve Douglas, The Associated Press
