THE Scottish Premiership clash between Aberdeen and Celtic was suspended due to a medical emergency. Players on the pitch appeared to notice something was wrong and raised the alarm. The Aberdeen medical team were seen sprinting across the pitch to head into the crowd to administer treatment and were joined by their Celtic counterparts. He informed viewers that the fan was now sat up and on his feet. Crocker then said the fan was placed in a wheelchair and taken away from the stand for further treatment. Advertisement Most read in Football Pictures show the fan - appearing to be awake and alert - on the wheelchair at the side of the pitch. Applause could be heard around Pittodrie. Play was able to resume after a delay of seven minutes. A further update was then provided by the Sky Sports commentator at the start of the second half. A fan suffered a health scare and the game was paused for around seven minutes Aberdeen's clash with Celtic was halted by a medical emergency in the stands. The champions are at Pittodrie for a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Cup final between Jimmy Thelin and Brendan Rodgers ' teams. Celtic were 1-0 up through Maik Nawrocki's header, but the football took a back seat shortly after the half-hour mark when the game had to be halted by ref Steven McLean. Players on both teams were seen waving to the official who stopped it as Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker said: "I think there might be a medical emergency in the crowd here which has been noticed by some of the players. "Steven McLean is telling the medical staff to run over." Chris Sutton added as the game paused: "Some things are more important than football." The commentary team later added that the fan was conscious and on his feet. Pittodrie gave him a warm round of applause before the game resumed after a seven-minute delay with Kevin Nisbet levelling for the home side.
