Aerosmith's Future Is Uncertain, But The Band's Still Charting
What does the future hold for Aerosmith? As a band, it's tough to predict. The group announced a farewell tour in May 2023, only to cancel it shortly after when lead singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal cords. At the time, the rockers stated they'd never tour again — but just months later, Aerosmith performed together once more. While there's been no official mention of brand new music, members have hinted that nothing is impossible. It may be a long time before the world gets to hear something fresh from Aerosmith…and there's a big question mark around such a topic. Until any news is shared, the hits that once propelled the superstars to the top of the charts remain standards in the rock world, and they're still helping the band climb. This week in the United States, Aerosmith scores a top 10 album. Greatest Hits climbs three spaces on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart, rising from No. 13 to No. 10. The ranking lists the most consumed projects in the hard rock genre, blending both sales of the full-lengths and EPs and streaming activity, which is usually especially important when it comes to singles-packed sets like this one. The same compilation also appears on two other tallies — and in both cases, it's on the rise. On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, Greatest Hits pushes to No. 37, meaning it's a top 40 win on two of the three rankings it occupies. The project also moves up five spots to No. 149 on the Billboard 200, which ranks overall consumption across all music styles. Greatest Hits has spent nearly the same amount of time on all three of those tallies, which suggests that since its debut, it has managed to largely hold on across the three lists, like a number of other popular collections from legendary bands with catalogs full of smash singles. The compilation is now up to 88 weeks on the Billboard 200 and 93 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Aerosmith also scores a smash once again in America, as 'Dream On' reappears on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. This frame, the tune returns at No. 24 on the 25-spot tally. 'Dream On' has spent significantly more time on this list than Greatest Hits has on any of the rosters it currently appears on. The track has now racked up 252 frames as one of the most-streamed hard rock cuts in America — and it has previously reached No. 1.

Rock legend to make shock guest appearance at Ozzy Osbourne's final show months after retiring due to vocal cord injury
Ellie Henman, Bizarre Editor Published: Invalid Date, AEROSMITH were forced to retire early last year after frontman Steven Tyler suffered a serious vocal cord injury. The US rockers had to pull the plug on their 2023 Peace Out: The Farewell Tour and said at the time that the decision was 'devastating'. 8 8 But Steven has been working hard on getting himself back to his best, and I've learned he is now gearing up to appear as a special guest at Ozzy Osbourne 's final Black Sabbath show, at Birmingham's Villa Park on July 5. A source said: 'Steven's injury was so bad and it has been a long road to recovery. 'He still loves performing live and has sung at a couple of charity events after they cancelled the tour. 'Playing at Ozzy's Back To The Beginning show was an offer he couldn't turn down and he will be on the line-up this summer. 'They are hoping Aerosmith guitarist] Joe Perry might be joining him too, but the final details are still being ironed out.' The line-up for Ozzy's farewell show, which will see the original Sabbath line-up reunite to perform, is out of this world for rock fans like myself. From Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Tool and Van Halen to Pantera, Guns N' Roses, Limp Bizkit, Smashing Pumpkins and Megadeth, the streets around Villa Park are going to be shaking when the concert kicks off. Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello is in place as the musical director and teased there may be even more big names to come, saying: 'There's some pretty great surprises that are not posted anywhere.' The show is being billed as 'the greatest day in the history of heavy metal' and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't counting down the days. Ozzy, who has been plagued with ill health in recent years, is currently in training to prepare for the concert, where he will perform a selection of tracks with Black Sabbath. Ozzy Osbourne fights back tears as he thanks wife Sharon for 'saving his life' in appearance at Rock N Roll Hall of Fame He said last week: 'I've got a guy living at my house who's working with me. 'It's tough — I've been laid up for such a long time. 'I've been lying on my back doing nothing, and the first thing to go is your strength. 'It's like starting all over again. 'I've got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going. 'I'm used to doing two hours on stage, jumping and running around. 'I don't think I'll be doing much jumping or running around this time. 'I may be sitting down, but I'll be there, and I'll do the best I can.' AMANDA TURNS UP THE CHEAT 8 SHE is already one of the biggest stars on British TV, and now Amanda Holden is a Netflix hit, too. She posed in racy golden underwear as it was revealed her new reality show, Cheat: Unfinished Business, has entered the top ten on the streaming service in 22 countries, including the UK and the US. In the show, Amanda and relationships expert Paul C Burnson help eight cheaters reconnect with their exes. It's been so successful since it launched just over a week ago that a second series is already in the pipeline. Celebrity spin-offs can be tedious, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an especially juicy star-studded version. MILEY SNAKES THINGS UP 8 I STRUGGLE to find one nice outfit for a night out, but Miley Cyrus managed to wear four at a single bash. She was in full promo mode at a Spotify fan event on Tuesday evening to celebrate her album Something Beautiful, which is out in three weeks. And she revealed another fashionista will sing on the record, confirming Naomi Campbell 's vocals will be on the album, after I told how the supermodel would feature in the star's visuals for the project. And just as with Naomi's usual look, Miley was dressed to impress, wearing a leather jacket and miniskirt to arrive, before changing into a strapless snakeskin dress for a Q&A on stage. Later she wore a black minidress with golden polka dots, before leaving in a quirky tux with a tummy-baring white shirt, below. During the event, Miley let slip that Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard also features on the album, and teased that the second single, More To Lose, will be out tomorrow. On what to expect from the record, she joked: 'It's not only my best album, but my gayest.' ECK' OF A SUMMER 8 THEY'VE got a bright future ahead and now my favourite rising stars Ecko have kicked off a summer of shows across the UK. The Scottish band, who I first championed after hearing their cool track Let Go back in February, played DJ Ewan McVicar's Pavilion Festival in Ayr over the weekend before heading down to their first show in London at The Elephant's Head in Camden. And they absolutely nailed both shows – the crowds giving frontman Jamie Warden, guitarist Matthew Welsh, drummer Jonny Armstrong and bassist Liam O'Connor rave receptions. At Pavilion, where Ecko played alongside acts including DJ Annie Mac and Happy Mondays, Ewan opened up about the importance of giving up-and-coming bands and singers the opportunity to play on bigger stages, as well as ensuring tickets are not allowed to become unaffordable. He said: 'Working-class people getting priced out of things is getting worse and worse. 'I know what it is like to be skint – about five years ago I was living off my overdraft.' He added: 'Look at the Brit Awards – nearly all the winners were privately educated apart from Sam Fender. 'I feel quite alienated at these events where you'll ask someone how they got into there to perform and they'll say it's because their dad did this and that. 'I worked my buns off to get where I am.' Getting behind grassroots artists is more important than ever and Bizarre will keep banging that drum. SYDNIE'S SWEET VE SALUTE SYDNIE CHRISTMAS is on a mission to help younger generations learn about the importance of remembering the fallen. The BGT winner has released a cover of Dame Vera Lynn classic We'll Meet Again for VE Day. Sydnie told us: 'I wanted to show my respect. 'I had family in the war like a lot of us did. 'I wanted to do Vera Lynn proud. 'Ideally I want the young people of today to go back to her version.' She continued: 'I don't think a lot of kids of today know the importance of it. 'My great grandad fought in the war and didn't meet my nan until she was five years old and the war had finished. 'Also my great-uncles fought too, but died on the beaches in France.' JESSIE'S UP FOR BAFTA TOM GRENNAN and Jessie J have both signed up to entertain the nation with performances at the Bafta Television Awards on Sunday. The glitzy ceremony will air live on BBC One from 7pm, with Jessie giving her first TV performance in six years, singing an unreleased song, aptly titled The Award Goes To. She said: 'I haven't sung on British television in years. 'What a way to come back – it's an honour. 'But who will the award go to? That's the question.' Meanwhile, Tom will give a telly exclusive with the first performance of his new single Full Attention, which is being released tomorrow. READY TO STAR IN LOVE ISLA 8 8 ISLA FISHER is single and ready to mingle, according to my pals who spotted her working the room at a party held before Sir David Attenborough 's Ocean film premiere in London. She began her night posing with Cara and Poppy Delevigne, as well as Georgia May Jagger at Gloobles' pre-Ocean premiere drinks at Notting Hill pub The Pelican, before attending the premiere and cosying up to Stephen Fitzpatrick, the owner of Kensington Roof Gardens. My onlooker said: 'Isla was sitting next to Stephen throughout the film and they seemed to be very flirty. 'They got on like a house on fire and it was the talk of the night.' It's either love . . . or she wants the best seats in the Roof Gardens next time she visits. No one has seen as much of the world as Sir David. THE Mercury Prize is leaving London for the first time in its 33-year history and will be held in Newcastle in October. The award, celebrating the best British album of the past 12 months and previously won by Pulp and Arctic Monkeys, will be presented at the Utilita Arena on October 16, with tickets on sale now.
