7 Brew Coffee drops into Irondale
IRONDALE, Ala. (Trussville Tribune) — Irondale coffee lovers have a new spot to start their mornings off right with the opening of their own local 7 Brew. According to Chris Basinger of the Trussville Tribune, community members and employees celebrated the grand opening of the popular drive-thru coffee chain's newest location on Monday with special guest and 7 Brew lover Miss America Abbie Stockard. 'I'm obsessed with 7 Brew, y'all have no idea. I'm so glad this is a closer location because I live 30 minutes away from the Trussville one and I will drive the 30 minutes to go and get it,' Stockard joked. Before the ribbon cutting, she was presented with a $1,000 check from the company for the Miss America Scholarship Foundation, which offers academic and community-based scholarships for undergraduate and graduate studies. Springville launching 'Market on Main' farmers market this summer 'I'm so appreciative of y'all writing this very generous check for the Miss America Scholarship Foundation. For those who don't know, Miss America is a scholarship organization, and the entire reason I started competing in the first place was to fulfill a financial need for my family,' Stockard said. 'I know that this scholarship money will definitely help other young women like me who are in similar positions,' she continued. Located at 1353 Montclair Road, formerly the Sonic Drive-In, the drive-thru stand offers over 20,000 unique drink combinations to satisfy any craving. The coffee spot has proven to be a hit with locals, joining other locations that have opened up recently in Moody and Trussville. Cierra Stockard was enjoying a tropical vacation with friends on March 16 when she purchased a dolphin-encounter excursion at Dolphin Cove, Jamaica, the mother of two told "Good Morning America." The experience, known as the "Dolphin Royal Swim," allows visitors to have a hands-on encounter with the marine mammals, according to the organization's website. The excursion allows visitors to interact with the dolphins as they "foot-push you to then splash into the water at maximum speed," the website states. Tourists are given the opportunity to stand on the backs of dolphins for a photo opportunity. The experience allows users to be "towed by two friendly Dolphins or feel the energy of these social marine mammals while they foot-push you to then splash into the water at maximum speed," the website states. Stockard said she was being pushed by the dolphins into a standing position when she fell into the water and landed on a dolphin's fin. "The dolphin on my left side was kind of swimming a little bit faster than the dolphin on my right side, so it made me unbalanced," Stockard said in an interview that aired Tuesday on "Good Morning America." "I just knew I was gonna fall into the water. I just didn't expect to hit the fin." Stockard said she landed on the dolphin's fin so hard she felt like she had been struck by a car.
