Savannah Impact Program to hold gun awareness event
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Impact Program (SIP) is hosting the 'End the Cycle, Stop Gun Violence!' event on June 6, in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
The event calls for an end to gun violence in Savannah and is open to the public. It will be held at 2005 Waters Ave. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Various community leaders, advocacy groups and local federal prosecutors will be speaking to help raise awareness of gun violence and to educate Savannah's younger residents.
To honor survivors of gun violence, those attending the event are encouraged to wear orange.
