During the burn ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited, including burning in barrels, outdoor wood-burning fire pits, and charcoal grills. Gas grills and gas fire pits are still permitted, a Sevier County Government spokesperson said.
'With leaves, limbs, and other debris having a tendency to pile up during the winter and fall, please take this time to prepare your homes and properties by removing this debris from around your house,' Gatlinburg Fire Chief Charlie Cole said.
Sevier County residents and visitors are also encouraged to sign up for CodeRED safety alerts at or by downloading the CodeRED Mobile Alert app.
