Three Louth winners take top prizes the prestigious Irish Restaurant Awards

Strandfield at Ballymascanlon, north of Dundalk won the award for Best Café. With a restaurant and bar, it caters for hungry customers from breakfast to dinner, with a selection of tempting menus including lunch, early birds and a la carte. There's also a function room for family gatherings and special occasions. The Glyde Inn added to its host of accolades when it was named as Gastro Pub of the Year. This family-run pub in Annagassan is renowned for its food, with a strong emphasis on freshly caught seafood and quality Irish beef. It's a popular location for locals and tourists alike, with a traditional Irish bar which celebrates the area's history as a Viking settlement and its links with the acclaimed writer C J Lewis. Speaking at the awards ceremony president of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Seán Collender, said: 'These awards are about acknowledging the incredible talent and tireless work of those in our restaurants, cafes and kitchens across the country. They shine a light on the resilience and creativity that define our industry. Behind every meal served is a team of passionate professionals dedicated to delivering unforgettable experiences.'
