DEWA Showcases Cutting-Edge AI Projects as Strategic Partner at Dubai AI Week 2025
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating as a Strategic Partner in Dubai AI Week 2025, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Organised by the Dubai Future Foundation and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the event runs from 21st to 25th April. DEWA is presenting a series of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives that support the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031. These efforts are focused on enhancing the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of energy and water services across generation, transmission and distribution networks. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasised the organisation's commitment to integrating disruptive technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution. 'We aim to become the world's first AI-native utility,' Al Tayer said, highlighting DEWA's strategic roadmap and alignment with national ambitions to position the UAE as a global AI leader. Key projects on display include AI in Distribution Power, a Material Insights Agent, Billing Services AI Specialist, and a Customer Happiness AI system. DEWA is also showcasing internal tools like the Khadamatech Portal for staff, an AI-powered HR agent, and the LinkedIn Learning AI Agent to support employee development. By embedding AI across operational and service levels, DEWA is advancing digital transformation in the utilities sector while reinforcing Dubai's status as a hub for smart innovation and sustainable development. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is taking center stage as a strategic partner at Dubai AI Week 2025, underlining its commitment to advancing Dubai's vision of becoming a global hub for artificial intelligence. Held from 21 to 25 April under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the week-long event is organized by the Dubai Future Foundation and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence. It brings together global leaders, tech giants, and policymakers to drive AI adoption across critical sectors. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, participated in the AI Retreat at the Museum of the Future, where discussions focused on digital infrastructure, governance, economic growth, and talent development in AI. As part of its participation, DEWA is showcasing its AI strategy, which includes a roadmap to become the world's first AI-native utility by integrating AI across electricity and water production, transmission, and distribution. DEWA's initiatives, such as Rammas—its AI-powered virtual assistant—highlight its efforts to boost operational efficiency and enhance customer experience. At Area 2071, DEWA is also highlighting partnerships through Moro Hub to promote smart, sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, DEWA Academy is contributing to the AI Week in Schools initiative, introducing students and educators to AI skills and fostering future-ready talent. Al Tayer reaffirmed DEWA's alignment with Dubai's broader AI ambitions, noting the authority's top global ranking in 12 key performance indicators and its ongoing commitment to building a robust digital infrastructure in line with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.
