Leopold's hosts their first ever ‘greening of the milkshake'
SAVANNAH. Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah is set to turn into a sea of emerald on Monday and an iconic local business is getting into the spirit.
This year's St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal Jay Burke was on hand today for the 'greening of the milkshake.'
This is the first year that the iconic ice cream shop has done their own spin on the Savannah tradition, turning their classic vanilla shake green, and they said they hope to continue the new tradition for many years to come.
'So, we had the grand marshal here greening milkshakes and it's a tradition that we're just starting,' Owner Stratton Leopold. 'So, we're just so excited and so honored to have him here and we look forward to continuing it.'
Leopold's on Broughton Street will be serving up the green shakes until St. Patrick's Day on March 17.
