Fleetwood Mac Reaches A New Career High Point with 'Rumours'

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours hits a new high on the Top Streaming Albums chart, earning the group a new ... More best showing on the list. The masterpiece remains one of the most commercially-beloved and critically-adored titles of all time. The pop-rock band's hit-laden collection is one of a number of releases that has earned a constant presence on the Billboard charts, but this is an especially busy week for the project. As the album rises on multiple lists, it climbs higher than ever on one in particular, proving that there's still an insatiable desire among fans to revisit the singles that turned it into a behemoth in the first place. Billboard only introduced the Top Streaming Albums chart a relatively short time ago, so classic releases and superstar musicians regularly reach new peaks as listeners turn to past favorites — sometimes turning them into streaming successes for the first time. This week, Rumours jumps 15 spaces on the Top Streaming Albums ranking, leaping from No. 49 to No. 34. That's a new high point for the full-length, and since it's the only title from Fleetwood Mac to ever appear on this tally, the band reaches a new peak as well. As it rockets up the streaming-only ranking, Rumours also climbs on four other Billboard charts, though its ascent is less dramatic. The title nears the summit once again on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rosters, settling at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. At the same time, it also returns to the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, which focuses on the bestselling releases in the U.S., combining digital and physical purchases. Rumours jumps from No. 36 to No. 9 in that case. The collection is also rising on the Billboard 200, stepping up five spaces to No. 25. Luminate reports that in the past tracking week, Rumours sold 4,400 copies — enough to make it one of the top 10 bestselling releases in the country. A large number of those must have been on wax, as the collection reenters the Vinyl Albums chart at No. 7. It's the only list where the project had to return, since last week the chart was flooded with Record Store Day exclusives, which have now mostly disappeared. As Rumours climbs the Top Streaming Albums list and reaches a new peak, one tune stands out. 'Dreams' is one of Fleetwood Mac's most beloved cuts, and a streaming favorite to this day. The track lifts to No. 42 on the all-genre, all-style, all-language Streaming Songs chart. It also inches back into the top five on the Rock Streaming Songs ranking, pushing from No. 6 to No. 4.

Nickelback Reaches One Billboard Chart For The First Time As Consumption Grows

Nickelback has been together for three decades now, and during that time, the Canadian band has released many well-known radio staples, topped the Billboard charts with albums and singles, and built a loyal fan base that continues to stream the group's biggest hits in massive numbers. That sustained popularity and consumption brings the rockers to a Billboard chart that they had somehow never reached before. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 debuts on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart this week. The set gets its start at No. 47. It marks Nickelback's first appearance on the streaming-focused ranking, which lists the full-lengths that earn the most plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music each tracking span. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 is one of just three new arrivals on the Top Streaming Albums chart this week. Of those debuts, it comes in with the lowest placement, though, appearing anywhere on the list is a notable accomplishment for the Grammy nominees. At the top of the tally this frame is Music by Playboi Carti, which takes over the No. 1 spot. Elsewhere, Vibras de Noche II by Eslabon Armado opens at No. 24, landing firmly in the middle of the roster. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 may be brand new to the Top Streaming Albums tally, but it's maintained its presence on several other Billboard rankings for years now. It currently appears on five additional charts, and it's on the rise on many of them. Across those various lists, the title has earned hundreds of stays, and in most cases, it has climbed into the top tiers. This week is no different, as the compilation continues to overperform on nearly every tally on which it appears. The band's compilation narrowly misses out on another big win this week, as it nearly returns to No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Instead, it's forced to settle for second place once more. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 comes in at No. 2, just behind The Father of Make Believe by Coheed and Cambria, which debuts at No. 1. The full-length also lives inside the top 10 on multiple other lists, as it appears at No. 5 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, No. 8 on the Top Rock Albums ranking, and No. 9 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster. It returns to the highest tier on the latter two simultaneously. On the Billboard 200, the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S., Nickelback's project pushes forward again, rising from No. 59 to No. 54.
