Sioux City Bandits celebrate 25 years in Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Sioux City Bandits reached a major milestone this season and celebrated on Friday with a ribbon cutting.
The team was established in 2000, and they are celebrating 25 years of bringing joy to Siouxlanders and being one of the nation's longest-running arena football teams. Head coach and former Bandits player Erv Strohbeen talked about how excited he is that the franchise has made it this far.

'I mean, it's pretty surreal,' Strohbeen said. '25 years is a long time, you know. And I guess if you would have told me 25 years ago when I was first starting as a player that we would come this far and still be around and I would be the head coach and I'd have all these guys celebrating this around me, I'd say 'Wow!' I would've never imagined this would've gone this long.'
The Bandits will face off against the Idaho Horsemen Friday night at 7:10 p.m. at the Tyson Events Center.
