RSS-BJP Synergy On Full Display As Mohan Bhagwat Joins Top Union Ministers At ABVP's Grand Event
The inauguration of the new Bal Bhavan, headquarters of ABVP's SEIL programme, witnessed the presence of some of the most powerful functionaries and leaders from both RSS and BJP
In an instance of a rare public convergence, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and a powerhouse lineup of BJP's top brass—including union ministers and party stalwarts—made a striking joint appearance on Tuesday for ABVP's grand inauguration programme for its new office in Delhi. It is now being seen as a dramatic showcase of organisational unity ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party's high-stakes national president selection process.
In what can only be described as a definitive demonstration of absolute cohesion of the Sangh Parivar's ideological and political fronts, the inauguration ceremony of the new Bal Bhavan, the headquarters of ABVP's SEIL (Student Experience in Inter-State Living) programme, witnessed the presence of some of the most powerful functionaries and leaders from both the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the BJP.
At the heart of the event stood Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the RSS, his presence setting the tone for what would unfold as a vivid testament to the seamless synergy between the Sangh and the ruling party, the BJP. As if on cue, a formidable cast from the BJP's central leadership followed—each one a key player in the governance of the country and the ideological shaping of its future.
From BJP's national president JP Nadda and the party's national general secretary Vinod Tawde to seasoned party veterans like M Venkaiah Naidu and Murli Manohar Joshi, the gathering looked both like a ceremonial event and a strategic alignment in full public view. Also in attendance were union ministers Mansukh Mandaviya, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, and Nitin Gadkari—a who's who of PM Modi's cabinet.
Delhi's chief minister, Rekha Gupta, was also present, symbolically tying the past, present, and future of the organisation's student wing with the ideological fountainhead of the Sangh.
Senior RSS functionaries, including Arun Kumar, Krishna Gopal, Ramlal, C Mukunda, and Sunil Ambekar, were also present at the programme. Even though some political experts have long commented on the invisible umbilical link between the RSS and the BJP, this event left little to speculation.
Addressing the gathering at the inauguration programme, Bhagwat offered a message about organisational growth and purpose.
'We have expanded and grown now. When an organisation is small, it can function with limited resources. But, as and when it starts expanding, the need for greater clarity and structure also grows. An organisation must have a soul—it has an outward form but also an inner essence. When the situation (dasha) changes, it often risks changing the direction (disha) too. That must not happen," said Bhagwat.
'We should avoid all unnecessary pomp and show. The focus should not be on grandeur and lavishness, but on purpose. We must walk the middle path—with discipline, restraint, and a sense of responsibility. Stay away from unnecessary lavishness—let intent and integrity lead our way," he added.
The RSS chief's remarks served as both a caution and a compass, urging the Vidyarthi Parishad to remain rooted in its core values even as it grows in scale and stature.
