Pete Alonso Had Words After Yankees' Loss to Mets
The New York Mets got their payback after losing 6-2 to the New York Yankees on Friday, defeating them 3-2 on Saturday thanks to RBI by Pete Alonso, Mark Vientos, and Francisco Lindor. Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu opened the scoring with a solo homer to right in the bottom of the third inning before Alonso hit an RBI single to left in the top of the fourth. Vientos followed up in the same frame with a sacrifice fly, plating former Yankee Juan Soto. Advertisement Cody Bellinger then hit a 432-foot bomb to center in the sixth for the Yankees, tying the game at 2-2. However, Lindor hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, and Edwin Díaz secured the save for the Mets in the bottom of the frame.
