Sony To Remove Two Classic PS3 Exclusives From PlayStation Plus

Resistance: Fall of Man Insomniac Games On May 20, 2025, Sony is removing nearly two dozen games from its PlayStation Plus library, including multiple platform exclusives. Most notably, two of the titles getting the cut are the classic PS3 exclusive shooters, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 from Insomniac Games. Infamous: Second Son is also impacted from Sucker Punch Productions, but you'll still be able to purchase that game to play on PS4 and PS5 just fine. Both Resistance games getting removed is particularly interesting because not only are they exclusives from a first-party studio, but they were just recently added to the service back in November of last year. While you cannot play either title natively on a PS4 or PS5, you could play them as streaming via the PlayStation Plus service. Until now. Additionally, once they are removed, there will not be any way to play either of these games on modern hardware. Your only option will be getting physical copies to play on an actual PS3 console. Making matters even more interesting, Resistance 3 (also a PS3 title) and the PSP exclusive spin-off, Resistance: Retribution, will both remain on the service for the time being. Resistance: Burning Skies, the PS Vita exclusive spin-off, remains only available on PS Vita. This news comes on the heels of rumblings that prices for many PlayStation products could be increasing in price due to tariffs and not long after PlayStation Network was down for 24-hours just a few months ago. If you haven't played the first two Resistance games, I highly recommend checking them out either on original PS3 hardware or quickly over the next few days before they're removed from PlayStation Plus. Fingers crossed we get a remastered collection soon and that's the underlying reason why they're being removed for now.

Scaachi Koul discovered an AI-generated biography about her life

Scaachi Koul came to a weird, unexpected realization recently: someone had published a book about her life, and she had no idea who it was, or where it came from. Titled SCAACHI KOUL: From Shattered Dreams to Unstoppable Voice—A Story Of Love, Loss, and Resilience, the author and Slate columnist discovered the biography, previously available on Amazon for $7.99, while promoting her memoir, Sucker Punch. Although the title has since been removed from Amazon, Koul had the chance to read it for herself before it vanished. The book, purportedly authored by someone named Davis Bieber, appears to be AI-generated. But where did it really come from — and could this happen to anybody with a big enough online presence? Today on Commotion, Koul tells host Elamin Abdelmahmoud about what it was like finding the AI-generated biography, and what she learned from there. WATCH | Today's episode on YouTube:

Pulling no punches: Calgary-born writer Scaachi Koul got divorced, reclaimed her narrative

Article content Scaachi Koul's initial concept for her second book of essays was completely different from how it turned out. Article content Article content It took her some time to figure this out, however. All the Calgary-born journalist, podcaster and pop-culture commentator knew at first was that the concept wasn't working. She signed a contract in 2018 for a follow-up to her 2017 book of personal essays, One Day We'll All Be Dead and None of This Will Matter. Her initial idea was to write a meditation on conflict. She even had a somewhat academic-sounding title: The Utility and Futility of Conflict. Article content 'I couldn't write a word of it,' says Koul, on the phone from her home in Brooklyn. 'First, I thought it was because of the pandemic, because all of my reporting got blown out because nobody could go anywhere. Then I was like 'maybe I just don't know how to write anymore.'' Article content Article content Then, three years ago, she got divorced. The dissolution of her marriage offered a framework for the new book, which would eventually be renamed Sucker Punch and feature a wedding ring imbedded into the finger hole of a set of brass knuckles as its cover art. Article content When the divorce was finalized, Koul had an epiphany about what was keeping her from writing. It wasn't the pandemic, and it wasn't that she had forgotten how. Article content 'Once my marriage fully fell apart and I could really look at it, I understood that was what was keeping me from doing anything. It clarified that I was fighting for things that I didn't actually care about and I didn't believe in and I didn't want,' she says. 'What a waste of my time. It has been liberating to give up. In a lot of ways, it's a book about giving up and failing and being righteous in failure.' Article content Article content So, in some ways Sucker Punch falls into a specific subset of literature, a divorce book that follows in the tradition of Leslie Jamison's Splinters, Sara Manguso's Liars and Nora Ephron's Heartburn. But unlike Manguso and Ephron's books, Sucker Punch is not a novel. Unlike Jamison's, it isn't fully a 'divorce memoir' either. Instead, the divorce provided a jumping-off point for a series of personal essays that tackle everything from body image to racism, family dynamics, sexual assault and her mother's cancer diagnosis. Article content Conflict is still a running theme. Throughout the book, Koul reflects on the combative nature she shares with her family and her one-time belief that her talent for conflict and fighting – whether it be with her family, friends, ex-husband or online trolls – was a valuable skillset. So 'giving up' may seem an alien concept for Koul to embrace.

Ghost of Yōtei comes to PS5 on October 2

The wait is (kind of) almost over. Ghost of Yōtei will be available for PS5 on October 2. This is a sequel to the 2020 hit Ghost of Tsushima and was first announced last year. It's a PS5 exclusive, as it's developed by Sony-owned Sucker Punch. It doesn't follow the story of Ghost of Tsushima. Rather, it's an original adventure with new characters that's set in a new era. Ghost of Yōtei takes place in Hokkaido, Japan in the early 1600s. This is over 300 years after the events of the first game. It's still an open-world adventure, though Sony promises "even more freedom and variety than in Ghost of Tsushima." For instance, you can hunt down the six big bads in whatever order you choose. There's a new trailer that reveals the basic story beats and some gameplay. It looks pretty darn fun. Preorders will open up on May 2 at 10AM ET for those in the US. This being a modern console game, there are a few different editions to choose from. There's the Standard Edition, which is just the game, that costs $70. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds in-game bonuses, like armor, weapons and costumes. That one costs $80. The Collector's Edition, which costs a whopping $250, comes with all of the aforementioned in-game items, but that's just the beginning. It also ships with physical items, like replicas of the protagonist's mask, katana and sash. Sony is calling this the best Collector's Edition it has ever produced. All preorders, no matter which edition, receive a "unique in-game mask" and a handful of PSN avatars.

Ghost of Tsushima's missing piece? Ghost of Yōtei collector's edition teases Gwent-inspired minigame; check details

Loved Ghost of Tsushima? Well, wait, keep up the excitement, as Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, is set to arrive this October. PlayStation Studios and Sucker Punch Productions have unveiled a release date for the trailer for Ghost of Yōtei, which is the upcoming sequel to the 2020 open-world game Ghost of Tsushima. The game comes with a brand new protagonist called Atsu, who is hellbent on getting revenge against six outlaws who killed her family. Ghost of Yōtei originally revealed a 2025 release window when it was announced. Now it is committing to a release date reveal of October 2, 2025. The new announcement came alongside a brand-new story trailer introducing Ghost of Yōtei's six key antagonists. But now you must be curious about how different it is from Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yōtei comes to PS5 on October 2. New trailer introduces the Yōtei Six — gang members Atsu has sworn to hunt down: Ghost of Tsushima's Collector's Edition reveals a minigame in the sequel Well, with a small trailer of Ghost of Yotei, nothing much could be showcased beyond the gorgeous vistas, a bit of gameplay, new weapons, and brief teases of what the story will be like. But the Collector's Edition boasts something that could engross players for a majority of the time in-game, reports Game Rant. However, it depends on how in-depth it is as a minigame: Zeni Hajiki. According to Game Rant, Horizon Forbidden West's Machin Strike and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Queen's Blood are the latest PlayStation titles to explore strategy minigames. Meanwhile, Ghost of Tsushima is focused on immersive open-world activities such as Bamboo Strikes and Haiku. But now, Ghost of Yotei introduces Zeni Hajiki, described as a skill-based gameplay that players will encounter throughout the game. This has also been showcased through a real-life adaptation. Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei feature Apart from the minigame, Tsushima had more than enough of an open world, encouraging free-roaming exploration. Still, Sucker Punch's acclaimed Ghost franchise seems like an ideal setup for a recurring minigame, especially if Ghost of Yotei features players encountering new NPCs (non-performing characters) along their quest to defeat the Yotei six. Key points about Ghost of Yōtei What is it? A sequel to the Ghost of Tsushima series. When does it come out? October 2, 2025. What can I play it on? PS5 (exclusively). Who's making it? Sucker Punch (Ghost of Tsushima, Infamous). To stay updated on the stories that are going viral follow Indiatimes Trending.
