Rajasthan Police detains govt employee for alleged spying in Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) [India], May 30 (ANI): Rajasthan Police on Friday detained a government employee, Shakur Khan, on the allegations of spying, in Jaisalmer. According to Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Chaudhary, Khan is undergoing interrogation. Speaking to ANI, SP Sudhir Chaudhary said, 'Shakur Khan, who is a government employee, has been detained and interrogation is being done...' The police had previously appealed to the public for information regarding suspicious individuals in the area. Several people have been detained for questioning, and action has been taken against those found to be sending sensitive information across the border. 'We had appealed to the public to give us information regarding the presence of any suspicious person. We have already detained many persons for interrogation, and action has been taken against those who were sending important information across the border..,' said Sudhir Chaudhary. Amid action against spies in the state, earlier today, the Delhi Police Special Cell started questioning the Pakistani spy arrested from Deeg, Rajasthan. Interrogation revealed that the accused spy returned to India one week before the Pahalgam attack. As per the police sources, the interrogation so far has revealed that Kasim has received about two lakh Pakistani rupees in different instalments from Pakistan in exchange for spying. Kasim has told during the interrogation that he deleted all the data from the phone. He has said that when the spies started getting caught in India post the Pahalgam attack, he deleted the data from his phone. However, the police will get the phone forensically examined to verify his claims. The police are waiting for the forensic report of his mobile phone to identify his contacts in Pakistan. The police are trying to trace Kasim's call detail record (CDR) to know his contacts in India. Post Operation Sindoor, police across states are nabbing Pakistani spies. On May 18, Haryana Police arrested several individuals alleged to perform espionage activities for Pakistan. Among the recent arrests, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, accused of spying against India, has made the headlines. On May 26, Haryana's Hisar District Court sent Jyoti into judicial custody, and the first hearing of her case is scheduled on June 9. (ANI)

Pak drone-dropped live bomb safely disposed in Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer: A potentially catastrophic situation was averted when a live bomb, believed to have been dropped by a Pakistani drone, was successfully neutralised by the Indian Army's bomb disposal squad here Monday. The explosive device, weighing between 3 to 5 kg, was discovered behind the FCI warehouse on Jethwai Road in the bomb was found nearly 10 km from Jaisalmer city, concealed in bushes slightly off the main road. Alert locals immediately notified the district administration and the police, prompting a swift response from security forces. Military and air force experts were quickly dispatched to the scene and the area was secured under strict security bomb disposal operation was successfully completed by evening, with the explosive device being safely destroyed under controlled conditions, which resulted in a visible cloud of smoke and dust in the area. Locals expressed relief following the successful disposal bomb discovery is connected to recent cross-border tensions following India's "Operation Sindoor," which prompted Pakistan to launch retaliatory airstrikes using drones and missiles targeting military bases in the border district of Jaisalmer. While Indian armed forces successfully intercepted many of these threats, ammunition from downed drones and missiles continues to be discovered in various areas of the district."We have issued an advisory to the public regarding the discovery of suspicious objects and ammunition," said Jaisalmer superintendent of police Sudhir Chaudhary. He also emphasised that sharing images of scattered ammunition on social media platforms is a criminal offence.

9 arrested near sensitive areas in Jaisalmer amid heightened border security
Barmer/Jaisalmer: Rajasthan's Jaisalmer police have detained nine individuals engaged in suspicious activities near strategically vital locations, following the intensified security measures along India's western border. In an official statement, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary said that the arrests were made by personnel from the Sadar, Kotwali, and Pokaran police stations in line with directives to closely monitor sensitive areas and act swiftly on any suspicious activity. Several police teams carried out comprehensive patrols that led to the apprehension of the suspects under Section 170 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023. The individuals arrested include Dharmnath (21) and Jeetunath (27), both from Chandan, Sadar police station, Jaisalmer; Roopchand (44) and Lakhuram (33), both from Totaram ki Dhani, Kotwali police station, Jaisalmer; Harish (19) and Manoharram (19), from Raniasar Colony, Kotwali police station, Jaisalmer; Ugarram (20), from Dharvi, Barmer; Mohammad Rehmat (22), from Ward No. 08, Rani Patti, Ballari, Bihar; and Khetaram (21), from Aati, Barmer district, who is a habitual offender wanted in multiple theft cases. Police have issued an appeal to the public to refrain from approaching strategically sensitive locations without a legitimate reason and cautioned against photographing or filming military and agency operations. Authorities emphasised that individuals engaged in suspicious or unlawful activities, especially in the border areas, will face severe legal consequences under a zero-tolerance policy. It further said that law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring social media channels and sharing of sensitive or provocative content or engaging in suspicious online activity will lead to stringent action.
