K-donuts go Hollywood: Knotted wins over LA foodies
Knotted, a premium dessert brand from Korea, has made a strong debut in North America, as its Los Angeles store attracted more than 30,000 customers in its first month of opening, the cafe said Monday. Located in the upscale Century City shopping mall, Knotted's first US location has quickly become a hot spot for locals, drawing an average of 1,000 visitors per day. Its signature donuts — particularly the milk cream donut — have sparked a 'K-donut' craze, with the store often selling out its daily stock within just four hours of opening. Knotted attributes its early success to its commitment to freshness, producing all items at dawn and discarding unsold products at the end of the day. The brand has also won over customers with its unique aesthetic and popular in-house character, Sugar Bear, which features prominently in store design and branded merchandise. Encouraged by the strong response, Knotted is preparing to open a second location in LA's trendy Arts District. The company also recently launched a Banana Kick Cream Donut in collaboration with Korean snack brand Nongshim, along with a banana-flavored latte. 'This achievement proves Knotted's potential for global expansion,' a company spokesperson said. 'We aim to bring the essence of K-donuts and our brand's charm to audiences worldwide.'

Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson questions father's intentions surrounding family car accident in 2014
Growing up on television, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's view of reality was often jaded. In a new interview, Thompson - whose new Lifetime biopic, "I was Honey Boo Boo," premiered over the weekend - questioned her father's intentions surrounding a family car accident in 2014. "There [were] just times when my dad, he would just get super angry and he let his anger issues just get the best of him," the 19-year-old told Us Weekly of her dad, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. "So you never really knew when he was angry, what would happen. It was just always up in the air. There [were] times [when] he would just rip his clothes off or just throw things or punch walls. It was just a little scary. You never know what could happen when he got angry." In 2014, her father was driving his family when they got into a car accident in Georgia. According to Us Weekly, Mike was making a left turn when another car slammed into them. "As many of you heard we were in a car accident last night," Alana's mother, June "Mama June" Shannon, said in a statement at the time. "It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck. We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin's [daughter Lauryn Efird] birthday. She turned 14 today and, no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate. As always, we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes." Alana also shared that, these days, her relationship with her father is non-existent. "I don't talk to him at all," she told the outlet. "I haven't talked to him in a very long time. I can't even tell you the last time I talked to him. That's how long it's been." "I mean, there was a lot of things that my father did that I didn't include in this story just because it was just very hard for me to just look back on that," she continued of her Lifetime biopic. "So I was like, 'I would just rather not.' I just didn't even include it." "I feel I've kind of gotten closer and I feel like, in a way, I just kind of push it to the side and I'm just like, 'It's OK.' I mean, he's never fully been there for me like I need him to be. I'm at the point of now I'm just like, he's never going to be there for me. So, yeah, I just accept it," she added. Alana rose to fame during her breakout on "Toddlers & Tiaras," which would eventually lead to her spin-off series, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." A representative for Mike did not immediately return Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Honey Boo Boo reveals why she thinks the car crash she was in with her father may have been deliberate
Her father was behind the wheel when her family got into a car crash over 10 years ago. But Honey Boo Boo isn't totally convinced the incident was an accident. The star was just eight when she - along with her mother Mama June and sisters Lauryn and Jessica - got in a car crash in a vehicle driven by their father Sugar Bear. Her father was making a left hand turn when another vehicle allegedly struck them. Speaking with Us Weekly last week, the reality star said she has suspicions the incident was deliberate and suggested her father's anger issues may caused the accident. 'There were just times when my dad, he would just get super angry and he let his anger issues just get the best of him,' Thompson, 19, said. 'So you never really knew when he was angry, what would happen. It was just always up in the air. There [were] times [when] he would just rip his clothes off or just throw things or punch walls. You never know what could happen when he got angry,' she said while promoting her new show on Lifetime I Was Honey Boo Boo. The reality TV star has not spoken to her father in quite some time. 'I can't even tell you the last time I talked to him. That's how long it's been,' she said. Honey's relationship with her mother is a bit more stable but not by much. In the trailer for Family Crisis, June can be seen screaming at Honey and accusing her of stealing $30,000 from her. However, June previously admitted to spending that money. She said: 'Where's my money' leading a grinning Shannon to pull out a huge plastic check for $30,000. Shannon responds: 'The check is right here' as a distraught Alana says off-camera: 'This isn't a game!' In April 2024 Mama June admitted she spent $30,000 of daughter Alana's money on 'life expenses' including manicures and household bills - while continuing to shut down criticism for not contributing to her college fund. Mama June seen here on September 13, 2013 Alana was particularly upset by the news regarding her finances, and she stated that she was considering legal action against her mother, who had attempted to talk her way out of the confrontation. Also affected by the argument was Shannon's husband, Justin Stroud, who stated that he was 'really hurt' by his wife failure to be truthful about her past actions. Elsewhere in the trailer, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, 25, is heard declaring: 'We're getting a f*****g divorce!' as her tearful husband Josh looks on. She also locks horns with sister Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon over their business. The trailer takes an even more shocking turn when a legal adviser says: 'The judge really could sentence you to prison' before Alana declares the family are in for a 'hot mess summer!' Alana previously threatened to cut off her mother after she refused to pay the money she allegedly stole from her. In a 2024 episode of the family reality show, the teenager and her older sister Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon confronted their mother over the money intended for Alana's college education. After the matriarch refused to pay her youngest daughter's tuition, which she suggested would be a 'waste' of money, Pumpkin said Mama June was 'not supportive' and 'lost $500,000 to a bag of f***ing crack'. Their intervention quickly becomes a bitter showdown when Mama June denied the 'betrayal' overall and refused to hand over the money. This comes after the matriarch told exclusively that she spent Alana's Dancing With The Stars: Juniors earnings on manicures and paying her own bills.

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo' Thompson Promises No Lies in New Biopic: ‘It's My Truth' (Exclusive)
When it comes to her tumultuous upbringing, Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson is ready to share her side of the story, and she promises she's putting forth nothing but the truth — even if Mama June Shannon doesn't like it. 'This is my truth, and I didn't lie about anything,' Thompson exclusively tells Parade when asked if she's nervous for her mother, 45, to see the new biopic about her life, I Was Honey Boo Boo. 'It's what happened. It's how I've seen it.' In the nearly 90-minute film, Thompson, now 19, narrates several details of her life that are reenacted by actors, including her time on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras and her family's rise to fame. She even goes into detail about the tougher times, like when her now estranged father, Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson, got into a serious car crash with her as a passenger and her mom's drug addiction that led to Thompson moving in with her sister Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Despite Thompson laying it all on the table, her mother and two sisters, Lauryn and Jessica Louise "Chubbs" Shannon (her oldest sister, Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell, died in 2023 after being diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma), haven't said much about the project. 'Honestly, there is like, really, no feedback,' Thompson adds. 'Everybody's excited just to see it. Nobody's really seen it, so they don't really even know what to expect, and they don't know what even is in the movie, except [from what they've seen in] the trailer.' She continues, 'They may feel mixed emotions. I don't know. I feel like this is my story and my truth, so I had to tell it to the truth.' Related: While several scenes may be hard for fans to see, Thompson shares that re-living the trauma has been a form of therapy. When asked if the process of filming was therapeutic, she replies, 'I think so,' adding: 'I think in a way it was. I think in a way it was almost like closure because I got to say it out loud and to actually feel like, how I felt, you know?' I Was Honey Boo Boo premieres Saturday, May 17, on Lifetime at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Baby bears are ‘ready to take on the world.' See them leave dens under CA homes
National Baby bears are 'ready to take on the world.' See them leave dens under CA homes Mama bears and their babies are leaving their dens under homes in California, videos show. Screenshot of BEAR League's video on Facebook Mama and baby bears are emerging from their winter nurseries beneath California homes and are 'ready to take on the world' — starting with tree climbing lessons, videos show. Four mother bears nestled into spaces under Tahoe homes over the winter to give birth to their babies and shelter them until springtime, McClatchy News previously reported. The BEAR League, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting bears in the area, set up cameras in the nurseries to monitor the three families, McClatchy News reported. And on Friday, April 11, a mother and baby duo known as Sugar Bear and Snowflake — the first bear family the group showcased from its bear monitoring project — ventured out of their den for good, the BEAR League said in an April 12 post on Facebook. 'Last evening, at about 9pm, Sugar Bear and Snowflake walked off into the darkness of the night together,' the organization said the post. 'They left the natal den where Snowflake was born in mid-January. They will not return.' The family first ventured outside the den in early April, and the growing little cub was raring to go, the organization said. 'Snowflake was wound up and ready to 'take on the world,'' the group said. 'Sugar Bear would have preferred a few more days to work on his climbing skills and sneak in a few more comfortable naps but, she's never been one to say No to her beautiful boy.' A video shows their last playful moments in the den together. 'This video is of BEAR League's (and you, our follower's) last 15 minutes with these two beloved and precious souls,' the group said. 'Please enjoy the footage of their final moments with us. And then the touching recap of the past two and a half months — as Sugar Bear prepared Snowflake for this enormous, exciting, but extremely dangerous next chapter in the life of two of Tahoe's amazingly wonderful bears.' Days earlier, two more of the bear families left their winter homes, the group said in a post on April 9. The families were finally ready after several weeks of 'tree climbing school,' the group said. Sugar Bear and Snowflake's first order of business appeared to be more tree climbing lessons to brush up on the little cub's skills for life in the wilderness, the video shows. The league also shared video from the bear family that has remained inside its den for the time being, except for its own tree-climbing lessons. 'While we're still wiping the tears away after watching Snowflake and Sugar Bear head off into the Big World; Ruthie, Mocha and Espresso are extending our BEAR League CubCam 25 project a few more days, thankfully,' the group said in a video posted to Facebook on April 13. '(These three are seriously helping ease the pain of withdrawal.)' The video shows mama bear Ruthie supervising her two cubs Mocha and Espresso as they climb over a log and try to scramble up the slick bark of a tiny aspen tree. 'The cubs have been getting a lot more comfortable outside the den, and Ruthie seems content to let them teach themselves how to climb,' the group said. Several people shared their thoughts about Snowflake and Sugar Bear leaving their den and venturing out into the world for good. One person said they were at a loss for words. 'It's been amazing to see snowflake growing in the last few months and to see him and his mum finally leaving the den is bittersweet,' they said. 'Glad that they have had the protection through the last few months but will miss watching them. … Let's hope they have a wonderful life in the great outdoors.' Another person said it was privilege to watch the family during the cubs' first stage of life, and several people shared that they would miss being able to regularly check in on the bears. 'I'll miss seeing this little cutie pie,' another person said.
