Tyson Fury spotted ‘secretly admiring' little-known British boxer as he watches on from crowd
TYSON FURY was spotted admiring the next generation of British boxers - and was joined by a familiar face. The former heavyweight world champion watched the England Boxing Schoolboy Championships over the weekend in Newcastle. 2 And in action was Solomon Dubois - the younger brother of IBF champ Daniel - who joined Fury in attendance. Solomon posted a picture showing Fury watching from the crowd alongside his family, including brother Shane and dad John. And Solomon posted on Instagram: "Secret admirer Tyson Fury at my fight." Solomon made it to the final of the 44-46kg category - representing Rainham - but he was beaten by Leonard Crotty of Royston. Boxing is a Eldest Daniel, 27, most recently beat Anthony Joshua in September and rematches Oleksandr Usyk on July 19 after his 2023 loss to the Ukrainian. His sister Caroline, 24, is the current WBC lightweight champion and brother Prince is also an amateur boxer. Fury, 36, meanwhile is enjoying retirement following two defeats to Usyk, 38, last year. 2 But he recently reunited with trainer Sugarhill Steward amid rumours of a comeback to fight Joshua, 35. The Gypsy King was pictured taking several snaps with fans at the national amateur boxing tournament on Tyneside. Fury himself won the ABA title - Britain's most prestigious amateur honour domestically - in 2008 before turning professional.

John Fury rips into his son Tyson's 'incapable' coaching team and claims the Gypsy King 'would have been knocked out' by Oleksandr Usyk without his corner advice... with father later BANNED for rematch in Riyadh
John Fury has criticised Tyson's coaching team, claiming he was the one who prevented his son from being knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk. Fury hung up his gloves for a fourth time in January after suffering a second consecutive defeat at the hands of Usyk. The first bout between the pair saw the Gypsy King narrowly escape after Usyk landed an unanswered series of 14 punches which left the former wobbling in round nine. John, who was heavily criticised for his antics before and after the fight and later banned from the rematch, believes he's the sole reason why his son was not knocked out. The 59-year-old told SecondsOut: 'Well, if it wasn't for me in his corner he'd be knocked out. Simple as that. 'He was listening to the wrong instructions and got caught going to the left of a southpaw. I'm a southpaw, you don't go to the left on me because I'll catch you. 👀 "If it wasn't 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗘 Usyk would've KNOCKED OUT TYSON FURY!" - Big John Fury has RIPPED INTO Sugarhill Steward and Fury's training team... #Boxing #TysonFury #JohnFury 🎙️ @TakeAymz — Seconds Out Boxing (@SecondsOutLive) May 9, 2025 Fury narrowly avoided being knocked out in the first bout after Usyk landed an unanswered series of 14 punches 'He was listening to ill-advise, too many people in the corner and I'm his father, if it wasn't for me, he not only stayed in the fight he won the 11th, he shared the tenth because his legs were gone in the tenth. 'He was a miracle man to get out the ninth round but it was me who kept him in there. If it had been left to them, he'd have been knocked out.' SugarHill Steward - nephew to legendary trainer Emanuel - has trained Tyson for his last seven fights, with former world champion Andy Lee as assistant. However, John insists Steward is 'incapable' of training Tyson. He added: 'He was listening to people that haven't got any fighting experience. 'And at the end of the day, if he was that good of a trainer, Sugarhill, his uncle Emanuel would have left him the top job, wouldn't he? 'He would've left him the full business, Jonathan Banks ended up with it. Why didn't Tommy Hearns have Sugarhill? Why didn't Lenox Lewis have him? 'Why didn't all the other Kronk fighters have him? There's a reason for it. Why do all these British fighters have him and sack him? Because he's incapable and I'm the first to say it. 'I don't mind the man as a man, I'm talking on boxing terms only. The man is a very nice man, he's never done me no harm in any way shape or form. 'But, we're talking boxing politics here and they just don't work Tyson hard enough, he's too soft with him and Tyson's telling him what to do half the time. 'And like I say, they're not going to tell him he's wrong because they need the money.' In the build-up to the first bout between Tyson and Usyk last May, John was let left bloodied after headbutting a member of the Ukrainian's camp. He was left bleeding from his forehead after he launched the attack in the lobby of the Riyadh Hilton Hotel in Saudi Arabia. Footage that quickly circulated on social media showed Fury Snr lashing out with his head towards Stanislav Stepchuk, who was wearing Usyk's team tracksuit. He then had to be restrained after security stepped in to prevent any further confrontation.

Tyson Fury's dad rips into son's corner and claims he saved Gypsy King getting KO'd by Oleksandr Usyk
JOHN FURY has blasted his son Tyson's coaching team and claimed he saved him from getting knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk. Fury, 36, lost his undefeated record and WBC belt in a points loss to Usyk, 38, last May and narrowly escaped being stopped in round nine. 4 4 But father John - who came under fire for his corner work in the aftermath of the fight - said he is the sole reason his son was not KOd. John told SecondsOut: "Well, if it wasn't for me in his corner he'd be knocked out. Simple as that. "He was listening to the wrong instructions and got caught going to the left of a southpaw. I'm a southpaw, you don't go to the left on me because I'll catch you. "He was a miracle man to get out the ninth round but it was me who kept him in there. If it had been left to them, he'd have been knocked out." Fury has been coached by Sugarhill Steward - nephew to legendary trainer Emanuel - since 2020 while also having ex-world champion Andy Lee as assistant. But dad and former boxer John fumed: "He was listening to people that haven't got any fighting experience. "And at the end of the day, if he was that good of a trainer, Sugarhill, his uncle Emanuel would have left him the top job, wouldn't he? "He would've left him the full business, Jonathan Banks ended up with it. Why didn't Tommy Hearns have Sugarhill? Why didn't Lenox Lewis have him? "Why didn't all the other Kronk fighters have him? "And like I say, they're not going to tell him he's wrong because they need the money." Sugarhill has also coached the likes of Ben Whittaker and Lawrence Okolie in the past - later splitting with both. He was mentored by his late uncle Emanuel, who shot to fame as the trainer to the likes of Lewis and Wladimir Klitshcko. But after Emanuel's death in 2012, his former fighter Banks inherited his stable including Klitshcko. Sugarhill has also worked with former world champions in Anthony Dirrell and Adonis Stevenson. And Fury credited the American for turning him into a power-puncher, with two stoppages over Deontay Wilder. The Gypsy King was beaten again by Usyk on points in their December rematch - without dad John in the corner - and retired a month later. But, with rumours of a future fight against Anthony Joshua, 35, Fury recently reunited with Sugarhill in his Morecambe gym to tease a comeback. 4 4
