Jewellery, cash stolen from contractor's house in Barh
Patna: Burglars broke into the locked house of contractor Sujit Prasad Singh in Maranchi police station area of Patna district's Barh subdivision and made off with valuables, including jewellery worth Rs 7 lakh and Rs 66,000 in cash, in the early hours of Moday.

Two masked robbers gained entry into the house in Sherpur village by scaling the wall.
The burglary was discovered on Monday morning when the owner returned to the house and found the door open with a broken lock. on entering the house, he found all the cupboards open, and household goods scattered on floor.
According to police, Singh lives with his family in Patna and often visits his Barh house.
Maranchi station house officer Awadhesh Kumar said an investigation was underway, with both the dog squad and FSL team.
"The fingerprint team has also been called to collect evidence. A complaint has been lodged in this regard. According to the victims, the thieves took five gold chains and two rings, besides Rs 66,000 cash kept in a cupboard," he said, adding the police scrutinised the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the house.
"Two men, covering their faces with a loincloth, were seen entering the house around 1am. They searched the entire three-storey house.
No arrests have been made yet," the SHO told this newspaper.
