SANDAKAN: A crocodile was captured by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) at Kampung Tinusa 2 early Thursday morning. According to Sandakan District Civil Defence Officer Sulaiman Salama, the reptile was spotted under a bridge by a resident who was tidying his boat when he noticed it entangled in a rope. Fearing for the safety of the community, the resident immediately contacted the MERS 999 emergency line for assistance. The State Operations Control Centre (PKON) received the call at 1.28am and promptly dispatched an APM team to the location. The one-and-a-half-metre crocodile, weighing approximately 16 kilograms, was safely restrained within 45 minutes using rope, snares, and a blanket, and will be handed over to the Wildlife Department for further action. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
