Delhi: Cheating racket in government job exam busted, 4 nabbed
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has busted a cheating racket in a government recruitment exam conducted by the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Samiti, arresting four individuals for orchestrating impersonation at a CBSE-designated exam centre in Greater Kailash. Among those arrested are a dummy candidate, a school teacher, an office superintendent, and a woman alleged to be the key facilitator. The accused were caught trying to manipulate the Junior Secretariat Attendant exam held on May 18 at a school in Hemkunt Colony. Sumit Dahiya, 29, from Sonipat, Haryana, was caught impersonating a registered candidate, named Ankur. Acting on a tip-off, police reached the exam centre, where the principal reported suspicious activity. During interrogation, Dahiya confessed he had been promised Rs 6 lakh by a middleman to take the test on Ankur's behalf.

Delhi: Dummy candidate found taking govt exam, cops swoop in to arrest him
Police busted a cheating racket in a government job examination with the arrest of a dummy candidate. They also apprehended a school teacher and two others who facilitated his entry. On May 18, police said the accused, Sumit Dahiya (29), entered a private school in Hemkunt Colony as a candidate for an exam being conducted by the CBSE. Hours later, he was arrested. According to police, a call was received at the Greater Kailash police station that a man was trying to impersonate someone during an exam for the position of Junior Secretariat attendant in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. 'The school principal told us about the incident. Upon verification, it was found that a candidate named had sent a dummy — Dahiya — to appear in the examination on his behalf,' DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said. Dahiya, police said, admitted that it was a three-member team, including a teacher from the school, who helped him enter the premises. 'The teacher, an office superintendent, and a woman were apprehended for facilitating his entry,' DCP Chauhan said. Police said further questioning revealed that Dahiya received Rs 6 lakh from a middleman who arranged the impersonation for the actual candidate. Dahiya then contacted a woman who knew the school staff. Dahiya offered her Rs 2 lakh. 'This woman contacted the teacher and office superintendent,' the DCP said. Efforts are on to nab the original candidate and the middleman.
