Severe Storms Presentation/Training This Afternoon in Erie
If you're interested in Spring or Summer Storms, feel free to join us at the Blasco Library this afternoon. Folks of all ages have enjoyed the presentation and everyone is welcome.
SKYWARN is a training class developed by the National Weather Service to help local citizens spot severe weather so they can relay their reports back to the Weather Service during storm events in our area in order that the Weather Service can get a better picture of what's happening on the ground. here. That allows them to issue more accurate warnings for us in NW PA.
But you don't have to sign up to be a spotter. You can just come to learn more about severe weather and see a very colorful and educational program. We're also going to talk some about the weather caused by the hurricanes from last year that hit the U.S. So we've got even more items and new material packed into the show.
