Kentucky contacts Treysen Eaglestaff, who scored 40 points vs. Alabama and 51 in another game

Kentucky contacts Treysen Eaglestaff, who scored 40 points vs. Alabama and 51 in another game Matt Cashore-Imagn Images One of the hottest names in the college basketball transfer portal is drawing interest from the Kentucky Wildcats. North Dakota guard Treysen Eaglestaff will be transferring, and according to Joe Tipton of On3, Kentucky is showing interest in the high-scoring standout. Advertisement Alabama, Michigan, St. John's, Kansas, LSU, Gonzaga, UCLA, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Oklahoma are among the many other schools that've expressed interest. Eaglestaff is also expected to test the NBA Draft waters. KSR's Jacob Polacheck previously reported that Kentucky was expected to show interest. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound Eaglestaff averaged 18.9 points (35.9% from deep), 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Eaglestaff first turned heads back in December when North Dakota hosted Alabama and North Dakota native Grant Nelson. Eaglestaff had 40 on the Crimson Tide, and the Hawks came this close to pulling the upset of the season on the top-five Tide. There will be competition, obviously, for Eaglestaff as he will be one of the most coveted scorers to enter the portal this offseason, and with Alabama getting a first-hand look at him, you have to think Nate Oats and the Tide will be players in his recruitment.
