Door County offers concerts in the park six days a week in 2025. Here's your guide
Some things are new for Door County's "concerts in the park" series in 2025 – a couple of new names and locations, for example. But one thing that isn't new is the plethora of opportunities – eight different concert series, six afternoons or nights a week – to see and hear bands from across the area, across the state and in some cases across the country play free, outdoor concerts in scenic parks on the Peninsula. For 2025, that includes several performances during the first week of August that are part of the first-ever Door County Jazz Festival. Sundays through Fridays, music buffs can kick back back on some green space to check out these bands. Bring blankets or lawn chairs if you want to sit at most of these concerts. And of course, all schedules are subject to change, and in case of bad weather on performance nights, check out the concert series' social media sites for updates and information. Here's a look at Door County's concerts in the parks in 2025. There likely are a number of reasons the Sunset Concert Series at the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center, an outdoor amphitheater in Eames Cherry View Park, draws some of the county's largest audiences (2,000 or more) to its Sunday evening concerts. One of them certainly is its lineup, which annually includes award-winning national and international touring and recording artists. Such is the case for 2025, with world famous acts The Lettermen and Pure Prairie League among those taking the stage. And, like a concert in the park series, it's free to attend. Along with a big name or two, the Sunset Concert Series schedule traditionally includes returning favorites who've played this series or at other venues on the Peninsula. Award-winning and Grammy-nominated bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent have played the Egan PAC every year the series has taken place since 2012, and other returnees include Celtic rock band Skerryvore, "The Voice" runner-up Chris Kroeze and jazz vocalist Janet Planet. All concerts start at 7 p.m. Sundays at the Peg Egan PAC, 7840 Church St., one block east of State 42. The outdoor amphitheater offers sweeping landscapes and sunsets over the harbor. In case of rain, performances will be held under a tent at the Alpine Resort, on County G on the south side of the village; no carry-ins are allowed at Alpine concerts. (The Alpine also holds its own free Concerts in the Tent series at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and select holidays from June 19 to Sept. 25.) For more information, call 920-493-5979 or visit or Updates, including concert status because of bad weather, will be posted to the Facebook page. Get out! Memorial Day Weekend outdoor events for families, fans of free stuff, Led Zeppelin and apple pie
Memorial Day Weekend is considered by many to be the unofficial start of summer, which is just a reminder that we're not, technically, there yet. So this long holiday weekend may be the final opportunity to get outside when the temps are not, technically, at their peak. Here are a few ways to have fun outdoors this weekend in South Florida. The sand around the Lake Worth Beach Pier (more formally, the William O. Lockhart Municipal Pier) has always been a popular place to fish, surf or put down a blanket to chill by the water, with plenty of local dining and shopping options. Sitting at the foot of the pier, seafood restaurant Benny's on the Beach has been a local landmark for nearly 40 years — which is being celebrated with a new house beer. A collaboration with Copperpoint Brewing in Boynton Beach, the blonde ale called Benny's on the Beach will make its debut this weekend, with Copperpoint reps visiting the pier to offer free samples on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. You'll also find the beer at Benny's during a $5 can special all weekend. Benny's on the Beach is at 10 S. Ocean Blvd., Lake Worth Beach. Visit A summer staple in downtown Delray Beach, the free Sunset Concert Series returns to Old School Square on Friday evening with Bon Jovi tribute band Livin' on a Bad Name. Gates open at 5 p.m., local Beatles tribute Strawberry Lane performs at 6 p.m. and the headliners go on at 7:30 p.m. This is a BYO-chair event, and there will be food and drink vendors at the venue (no coolers or outside alcohol allowed). Admission is free, but space is limited. VIP tickets are available for $50 and include a seat, access to a private lounge area with a dedicated bar, and one complimentary beer or wine. Other acts on the schedule include The Best of Rod Stewart (June 27), Fleetwood Mac tribute True Rumors (July 25) and Billy Joel tribute Turnstiles (Aug. 22). Old School Square is at 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. Visit There is not a more attractive outdoor concert venue in South Florida than the Miami Beach Bandshell, a nearly 70-year-old waterfront MiMo jewel included in the National Register of Historic Places. The 1,300-capacity venue was made even more appealing a few years ago with the addition of a thoughtfully designed canopy — a practical weather shield, but in itself a piece of art featuring a circular canvas 70-feet across on a single column over the original terrazzo dance floor. On Friday, the bandshell will welcome nationally touring Led Zeppelin tribute band Zoso at 7 p.m., with tickets starting at $39.56. On Saturday at 7 p.m. the bandshell will host the fifth annual Miamibloco Saideira Social, a samba party with Miami percussion group Miamibloco joined by Bateria Saideira, an 80-piece percussion orchestra, and an army of local musicians. Tickets cost $47. The venue has a variety of food and drink options for purchase on-site. The Miami Beach Bandshell is at 7275 Collins Ave. Visit The Great American Beach Party is a family-oriented Memorial Day Weekend tradition at Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Oceanside Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. You'll find giant inflatable water slides, classic car displays, a sand-sculpting contest, live music, parachute jumps by the SOCOM Para-Commandos and, of course, plenty of ocean to jump into. Admission is free. Visit A typical weekend in downtown Delray Beach offers plenty to catch your eye, but this weekend they dial it up a few notches. The Memorial Day Weekend edition of the Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival will take place along Northeast Fourth Avenue, just south of East Atlantic Avenue, displaying the work of more than 100 juried artists and crafters from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. Visit Boca Raton is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a series of events, including the Centennial Celebration Weekend Drone Show on Sunday at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC). Gates open at 7:30 p.m. (seating is limited), and the first drone display will be at 8:30 p.m. The performance will run about 12 minutes and be followed by a DJ performance in advance of a repeat of the same drone show at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free, and guests are welcome to stay for both shows. The evening will end with a fireworks display. Snacks will be available for purchase. BRiC, a science and technology office park, is at 5000 T-Rex Ave. Visit The 40th annual Memorial Day Apple Pie 5K and Whit's Ice Cream Mile will take place at the Spanish River athletic fields in Countess de Hoernle Park in Boca Raton on Monday. The 5K begins at 7 a.m., the mile run at 8 a.m., and, yes, there will be pie and ice cream at the end. Registration (in advance or on-site) costs $40 for the 5K and $20 for participants age 16 and younger. The Whit's Ice Cream Mile costs $20. It's free for veterans to participate in both runs. A free kids race for age 8 and younger also will take place at 8 a.m. Proceeds benefit Folds Of Honor, which provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of fallen or disabled military and first responders. The park is at 1000 Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton. Visit Staff writer Ben Crandell can be reached at bcrandell@ Follow on Instagram @BenCrandell and X @BenCrandell.
