Eagles Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown land high in a ranking of the top QB-WR duos
Eagles Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown land high in a ranking of the top QB-WR duos PFF ranked the top 32 QB-WR/TE duos in the NFL and Philadelphia's Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown landed behind Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase for the top spot The Eagles have the NFL's most explosive offense, and a good portion of that success stems from quarterback Jalen Hurts connecting with wide receiver A.J. Brown. Saquon Barkley powers the machine, but Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert provide their own knock-out punches when called upon. Pro Football Focus ranked the top 32 QB-WR/TE duos in the NFL, and Philadelphia's Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown landed behind Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase for the top spot. 2. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: JALEN HURTS & A.J. BROWN Brown came in at No. 1 in PFF's wide receiver rankings, thanks to his dominant 96.5 PFF receiving grade versus single coverage over the past three seasons. Hurts hasn't always been the most efficient quarterback, but he bounced back from some bad PFF passing grades under pressure to start 2024 and became a Super Bowl champion. Only the Bengals duo topped Philadelphia's, while Houston (3), Washington (4), and Tampa Bay (5) rounded out the top five. No quarterback, tight end combo makes the list until Brock Purdy and George Kittle (49ers) at 14th. Hurts landed behind Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen, but finished ahead of Jayden Daniels, Dak Prescott, and Justin Herbert in PFF quarterback rankings. Hurts, crowned Super Bowl LIX MVP, became just the second QB in Eagles history to deliver a Super Bowl Championship to the City of Philadelphia, joining Nick Foles (Super Bowl LII MVP). According to Elias Sports, Hurts is only the seventh NFL QB to appear in multiple Super Bowls and win a championship in their first five seasons. The other QBs who did so are Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner, and Russell Wilson. Brown topped the list for wide receivers, finishing ahead of big names. Despite missing three games due to injury, A.J. Brown led the team with 1,079 receiving yards. He also ranked 1st in receiving average (16.1) (min. 60 catches) and 3rd in receiving yards per game (83.0) (min. 13 games), behind Ja'Marr Chase (100.5) and Justin Jefferson (90.2). Smith posted a career-high 8 TDs in the regular season and hauled in a 46-yard TD in Super Bowl LIX. During the run to the Super Bowl, he became the franchise's all-time leader in postseason receiving yards (595).

Brandon Graham responds strongly to Jalen Hurts landing behind Josh Allen in QB Rankings
Brandon Graham responds strongly to Jalen Hurts landing behind Josh Allen in QB Rankings Brandon Graham offered a strong response to PFF ranking Jalen Hurts as the 5th-best QB behind Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. There have been a myriad of debates concerning where Jalen Hurts lands in the NFL quarterback hierarchy. After appearing in two of the last three Super Bowls, including winning this past February, there's no doubt that the Eagles' star is among the most efficient and dependable at his position. PFF has started yearly position rankings, and the quarterback spot always brings the most intense debate. Breaking down the participants into tiers, Hurts landed in the top five, just outside tier one, where the elite signal-callers landed. His former teammate, Brandon Graham, isn't a fan at all of the rankings and offered a strong response to 94 WIP when asked about Josh Allen and others. Hurts landed behind Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen, but finished ahead of Jayden Daniels, Dak Prescott, and Justin Herbert. Hurts, crowned Super Bowl LIX MVP, became just the second QB in Eagles history to deliver a Super Bowl Championship to the City of Philadelphia, joining Nick Foles (Super Bowl LII MVP). He Jim Irsay was 13 years old when his father acquired the Colts. In his youth, he worked as a ball boy and answered phones in the Colts' ticket office. He played college football briefly at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. He returned to the organization after college, holding several jobs before becoming vice president and general manager at just 24 years old in 1984. At that time, the Colts had been in a protracted battle with the city of Baltimore over a potential move. The situation got so bad that the Maryland General Assembly passed legislation giving the city the right to seize the team's property by eminent domain. Irsay moved the entire team to Indianapolis in the dead of night on March 29, 1984. Robert Irsay suffered a stroke in 1995, leaving his son to take over management of the organization. After his father died in 1997, Irsay took over the team as owner at just 37 years old. In 1998, Irsay's Colts drafted Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. Manning played 13 seasons with the Colts, leading the team to a Super Bowl win in the 2006 season and an appearance in Super Bowl XLV in the 2009 season. Rams, NFL Greatly Benefitted From Having Jim Irsay
On Wednesday, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay died at the age of 65, leaving behind a franchise that was better because of him, a city the loved him, and a legacy not many could emulate. "We are devastated to announce our beloved Owner & CEO, Jim Irsay, passed away peacefully in his sleep this afternoon," the Colts said in a statement Wednesday evening. "Jim's dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts In addition to his generosity, commitment to the community, and most importantly, his love for his family were unsurpassed. Our deepest sympathies go to his daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, Kalen Jackson, and his entire family as we grieve with them. "Some of Jim's fondest memories came from his youth working training camps in Baltimore and growing relationships with players, coaches, and staff whom he considered his extended family. He worked in every department before he was named the youngest general manager in team history in 1984 when the Colts arrived in Indianapolis. After he took sole ownership in 1997, he led the Colts to a long series of division titles and brought the city its first Super Bowl Championship. Jim's love and appreciation for the NFL in addition to its history, tradition, and principles influenced him to become a steward of the game throughout his 50-plus years in the League. "Jim's generosity can be felt all over Indianapolis, the state of Indiana and the country. He made philanthropy a daily endeavor. He never hesitated to help countless organizations and individuals live better lives. Music was one of Jim's passions and the ability to share his band and collection with millions of people across the world brought him tremendous joy. Simply put, he wanted to make the world a better place and that philosophy never wavered. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, the Colts organization, and fans everywhere, but we remain inspired by his caring and unique spirit." Irsay had no reason to be involved with the Colts in the way that he did. Born into wealth, the son of the controversial Bob Irsay, Jim Irsay loved so many things outside of football. His music, his family, his lifestyle, and yet all roads led back to football. He was brash, he called it like he saw it, he was the first to publicly state former Commanders' owner Dan Snyder should no longer afford the privilege of being in the NFL. Quite frankly, he did what he wanted, but his actions were taken in consideration of others. He was a former ballboy, general manager, and chairman of several NFL committees. He helped bring a Super Bowl to Indianapolis and then a new stadium. He helped make Indianapolis a mecca of American sports, even more so than it already was. He worked hard and yet always found a way to care about his community and those in need. He was a musician, collector, advocate of mental health. He made choices, he made moves. Some bad, some good, but in the end, he loved his coaches, he loved his player, and he was always there. Irsay was like that random uncle that showed up to family reunions and you never knew when he was going to come, but if anything bad ever happened and you gave him a call, he was the first one there. In the end, not many people who label themselves as a rich billionaire would have the love from people with different backgrounds, financial statuses, opinions, and levels of power. Not many people but Jim Irsay did. He changed the league. He changed a city. He did so much for so many who love this game and his absence will be felt for a very long time and by generations who never got to know him. The Los Angeles Rams and all other franchises in the NFL are better off thanks to Irsay's time in the league.
