Illit to return in mid-June: report

Illit is poised to make a comeback in mid-June, according to a local media report on Wednesday. Agency Belift Lab confirmed the news but did not provide more details. The group of five will be bringing out a new album about eight months after its second EP, 'I'll Like You.' The mini album ranked No. 94 on Billboard 200 and sold over half a million. The upcoming album would be released after the members greet their fans at first fan concert 'Glitter Day' which will be held in Seoul June 7-8. They will host another in Japan in the following months, in Yokohama and Osaka. Meanwhile, Illit reached the 100 million streams mark on Spotify for the second time with 'Lucky Girl Syndrome.' The B-side track from its first EP 'Super Real Me' achieved the feat as of last week, following its debut single 'Magnetic.'

Illit tops 200m views with debut music video

Illit surpassed 200 million views on YouTube with the music video for 'Magnetic,' agency Belift Lab saidTuesday. The video hit the milestone on the previous day, about a month before the rookie girl group's first anniversary of debut. 'Magnetic' is the lead single in its debut EP 'Super Real Me' and the dance number took the world by storm, not only sweeping all major music charts at home but also debuting on Billboard's Hot 100 and UK's Official Singles Top 100. On Spotify, the single has garnered over 540 million plays. On Sunday, the group won rookie of the year at the Hanteo Music Awards 2024, meaning it now has five rookie trophies under its belt. Meanwhile, it released digital single 'Almond Chocolate' in Japan last week which will be used for movie 'It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love.' The Boyz Sangyeon to host solo fan meetup Sangyeon of The Boyz will hold two fan meetings on his own in Seoul on March 8, agency One Hundred Label announced Tuesday. He will spend time with fans at the meet-and-greet, which will be held twice on the same day. The event is themed after a photo exhibit and will make use of pictures he has taken with a film camera, reliving the memories he has built up with fans. The performer will enlist on March 17 and serve as a member of the Army marching band. On Sunday, he had his final appearance on musical 'Bloody Love,' a modern take on 'Dracula.' This weekend he will join bandmates for a fan concert in Tokyo which expanded to a three-day event. The 11-piece act will bring out an album in March.
