Rare Mercedes-AMG One Hypercar Goes Up In Flames: Watch Video

A rare Mercedes-AMG One hypercar caught fire and was totaled in an incident in Germany. Valued at about 2.7 million Dollars, it is one of only 275 made and includes Formula 1 inspired technology. This is the second time an AMG One has caught fire, raising worries about the safety of this high-performance car. Incident Overview: The fire incident occurred in Germany, where the car had an "OL" license plate, indicating it was registered in the Oldenburg region. The dark green AMG One was featured at the Techno Classica Essen event in April. The driver was able to pull over and get out of the car before it was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived on the scene but couldn't save the vehicle, which was left completely destroyed. Moreover, It seems that the vehicle belonged to a customer rather than being a prototype as Mercedes' test vehicles use "LB" number plates, since AMG's headquarters are located in Affalterbach. About Mercedes-AMG One: The Mercedes-AMG One is a unique hypercar that brings Formula 1 technology to the road. It has a complicated hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.6-liter V6 engine and several electric motors, producing over 1,000 horsepower. Because of its complex design, the AMG One requires careful maintenance, including engine rebuilds every 31,000 miles (approximately 50,000 kms). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Supercar Fails (@ Investigation Reports: The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. While the hybrid system's complexity might be a factor, no clear conclusions have been reached yet. This incident raises concerns about the safety and reliability of high-performance hybrid vehicles that use advanced motorsport technology. The loss of another Mercedes-AMG One showcases the difficulties of applying cutting-edge racing technology to consumer cars. As the investigation continues, the automotive industry will keep a close eye on the findings to address any potential safety issues in high-performance hybrid vehicles.

Ford Mustang Driver Can't Handle Snow

Read the full story on The Auto Wire We've personally witnessed more than one Ford Mustang driver helplessly trying to coax their pony through snow, and it's usually not pretty. That's what the included video, which was filmed either somewhere in Europe or maybe Russia, is all guy in a black S550 Mustang is driving through the street by what appears to be some apartments. Cars line the sides of the road as the out-of-control Ford smashes into them repeatedly. It's obvious the muscle car is struggling for traction in the white stuff as it sprays wildly from the rear drive tires. But is this because the vehicle has the wrong kind of tires on it, or is the driver behaving like an idiot? The answer could be both. We've seen Mustangs struggling to get up snowy hills, which is a legitimate thing. But the driver was laying on the accelerator as the rear tires just spun uselessly, which is user error. So both can be true. Also a possibility is the guy has had one too many or is otherwise intoxicated. That would explain why he just keeps crashing into cars instead of stopping, getting out, and figuring out the situation. Whatever the reason for the driver's recklessness, the people who live at the apartment complex are understandably upset at the guy. They start chasing the Mustang, throwing snowballs at it. The front end of the Ford is damaged, the bumper cover ripped off. Eventually, the Mustang driver ends up on foot outside of his car, although we don't know why. Maybe it was damaged enough it couldn't drive anymore? The people chase the guy down, tripping him up and mobbing the man. It's like they're ready to get even after the Mustang driver did one of the most Mustang things. This whole situation is just bizarre. $4 Million Pagani Huayra Roadster Backs Into Parked Volkswagen in Minor Mishap

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector A rare , valued at approximately $4 million, sustained minor damage after reversing into a parked Volkswagen Golf, as captured in a viral social media video. The incident, which took place in an undisclosed location, shows the high-performance Italian supercar slowly backing up before making contact with the stationary VW, followed by an audible crunch. While details about the extent of the damage remain unclear, reports suggest that the vehicle is protected by paint protection film (PPF), likely minimizing any harm to the ultra-expensive carbon fiber bodywork. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Supercar Fails (@ Social media users quickly took notice, with many commenting on the irony of a multi-million-dollar hypercar colliding with a much more common and affordable hatchback. Some enthusiasts also pointed out that this particular Huayra Roadster is believed to be one of the highest-mileage examples in existence, an unusual feat for an exotic car that many owners keep as collectibles. Under the hood, the Pagani Huayra Roadster is powered by a Mercedes-AMG 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, producing 754 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is paired with a seven-speed automated manual transmission, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels. The Roadster variant of the Huayra is a lighter, open-top version of the coupe, featuring intricate aerodynamics and an opulent handcrafted interior. While the incident is unlikely to have caused any significant mechanical issues, it serves as a reminder that even the world's most exclusive hypercars are not immune to everyday driving mishaps. Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Stuck in Tahoe Snowstorm

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector Lamborghini's rugged Huracan Sterrato, built to handle off-road terrain, met its match in a severe snowstorm that blanketed the Tahoe region. The high-performance supercar, designed for slushy roads and icy trails, was spotted stranded in a snowbank, underscoring the limits of even the most adventurous exotics. Images shared on social media showed the Huracan Sterrato buried in heavy snowfall, with treacherous road conditions making travel nearly impossible. The storm brought intense snowfall and frigid temperatures, creating hazardous conditions for many drivers, including the owner of the all-terrain Lamborghini. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Supercar Fails (@ Despite its off-road modifications—including increased ride height, all-wheel drive, and specially tuned suspension—the Sterrato remains a supercar at heart. While its design allows for more adventurous driving than a standard Huracan, deep snow and icy roads still present significant challenges. Unlike traditional SUVs with higher ground clearance and robust winter-ready tires, the Sterrato's capabilities have limits in extreme conditions. The Sterrato was developed to appeal to enthusiasts looking for a supercar that could handle a ski trip or a light off-road adventure. However, as this incident highlights, even a vehicle engineered for versatility can struggle when winter weather turns severe. While it's unclear how the vehicle was eventually freed, the incident serves as a reminder that even all-terrain supercars are not invincible in harsh winter environments. $3 Million Bugatti Chiron Towed by Volkswagen Van Sparks Curiosity

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector A scene in Frankfurt recently went viral when a $3 million Bugatti Chiron was seen being towed by a humble Volkswagen van, sparking confusion and a flurry of questions. The luxury hypercar, a stunning example of automotive engineering, appeared to be inoperable, with no registration plates and being hauled down the streets, causing onlookers to wonder why the owner wouldn't opt for a more fitting mode of transportation. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Supercar Fails (@ However, the situation was not what it seemed. The Chiron was not broken; rather, it was likely being moved from the Klassikstadt yard, a renowned car museum and storage space in the city that houses some of the world's rarest cars. The Bugatti was either at the museum for a car meet or perhaps delivered to its new owner. According to German law, vehicles without registration plates cannot drive on public roads, but they can be towed legally without the need for a driver's license or a valid registration. Some even speculated in social media comments that the Chiron might have been a mule, lacking a powertrain altogether. The Chiron, which starts at around $3.3 million, is known for its mind-boggling performance, thanks to its 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces up to 1,578 horsepower in its Super Sport versions. The car is capable of reaching 0 to 62 mph in just 2.4 seconds, and while its top speed could surpass the 261 mph mark, the towing vehicle's top speed was far more modest. The sight of the Chiron being towed by a Volkswagen van has not only ignited amusement online but also sparked humor-filled comments about the supposed "reliability" of the two vehicles, with one user joking, "Volkswagens have always been more reliable than Bugattis."
