Teaser Trailer for THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V Season 2 — GeekTyrant

After a long wait and a lot of questions, Gen V is officially back in session. Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that Season 2 of The Boys spin-off will premiere on September 17th, and it's bringing the chaos. The announcement came with a brutal, blood-soaked trailer that teases an all-out war at Godolkin University, and this time, the stakes are even higher. The new footage features a defiant Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) rallying her fellow Supes: 'Whatever we do, we do it together.' From the looks of it, that 'together' includes lots of violence. The official synopsis from Amazon sets the tone: 'As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss.' 'But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.' New faces include Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher, a man whose friendly vibe probably hides something sinister. Returning cast members include Lizze Broadway as Emma, Maddie Phillips as Cate, Asa Germann as Sam, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. The new trailer doesn't ignore the absence of Chance Perdomo, who tragically passed away last year. Rather than recasting his role as Andre, the show has chosen to move forward with a reworked storyline. The trailer briefly touches on this loss, showing Polarity enraged and grieving over his son's disappearance. Gen V Season 2 kicks off with a three-episode premiere on September 17, followed by weekly drops every Wednesday. Let the carnage resume.

Review – Absolute Flash #3: Man or Monkey

Absolute Flash #3 cover, via DC Comics. Ray: One of the best things this series has done is put us inside Wally West's head for the duration of the first arc. We're not following a big, sweeping story – we're following a traumatized kid as he runs away from the worst day of his life, leaving behind his dead mentor, his enraged father, and an army of bounty hunters out for his blood. As he struggles to keep his mind straight and understand his new powers, the hunt for him escalates – and it becomes clear that while his father wants to bring him back alive, the Rogues may not have the same plan, especially once he lands some good hits on them. And now they have a secret weapon – Grodd. The reveal last issue that Grodd wasn't a super-sized evil psychic gorilla in this world but rather a small, genetically mutated monkey with a superpowered brain was a great twist – and this little critter winds up becoming one of Wally's closest allies out there. Speed rush. Via DC Comics. The segment when Wally encounters Grodd for the first time is the kind of thing Lemire excels at – a segment involving only a few words, but incredibly powerful images. The two form an immediate psychic bond, and see each other as they are – motherless children, alone in the world. That's all it takes for Grodd to turn his back on his masters and start a new path as Wally's companion – and I can tell these two are going to become an incredibly popular duo as they escape together. The final part of this issue sees Wally finally ready to turn his back on his old life and embrace his new legacy as the Flash – as we see him in costume for the first time. This book is so different from the rest of the line, but it's a great coming-of-age story for the universe's youngest hero. I'm very curious to see how this young Flash will interact with the rest of the line, but right now this is yet another phenomenal book in it. Ben Shephard barks 'its not steroids!' as David Walliams takes OUTRAGEOUS swipe at his topless magazine shoot live on This Morning

Ben Shephard barked back at David Walliams as he took a swipe at his topless magazine shoot live on This Morning. Tuesday's instalment of the ITV show saw the TV star, 53, chat to hosts Ben, 50, and Cat Deeley, 48, about his brand new book The World's Worst Superheroes. The pair were keen to find out about the characters in the novel, including one called Super Dave. Ben said to the comedian: 'Some of them are made up and some of them are real... so tell us about actual Super Dave?' David jokingly said: 'Well Super Dave is a bit like Ben Shephard but without the steroids.' The comment made Ben and Cat burst into laughter. Ben sternly told him: 'It's not steroids, David.' The camera then panned in on David cracking up as his own joke. Ben added: 'It's just protein.' David said: 'Protein shakes, that was it.' It comes after presenter Ben showed off his rippling muscles for a striking Men's Health UK cover on Tuesday. The This Morning presenter looked incredible as he posed shirtless in the snaps which revealed his impressive abs. During the accompanying interview Ben spoke about how it felt to pose for the magazine again for the first time since 2012 and how his body and understanding of health and fitness has changed in that time. He also touched on the way he views life at 50, working out with his two sons, and his ambition to do another shoot when he turns 60. In one shot he wore just navy shorts as he fixed the camera with a stare, while for others he carried various weights to show off his strength. Speaking about recreating a similar shoot to the one he did for Men's Health in 2012, he said: 'Recreating the cover shoot has been fantastic. 'A friend asked me what the one exercise was that made the biggest difference. It's not an exercise, it's consistency.' Speaking on how he approaches fitness now he added: 'It came a little easier this time… 'I have a deeper understanding of what I have to put myself through to build lean muscle and reduce body fat. 'To get stronger, physically and mentally, is definitely harder the older you get. In my forties, I was still on the attack. In my fifties, I'm on the defensive. 'It's all about how I prolong things now – not going out and smashing it left, right and centre. 'Proving to yourself you have the discipline to do something, proving you can be accountable to yourself is incredibly seductive and infectious. The more you get of that, the more you want it.' He also spoke about whether he would be do another shoot for the publication in another decade when he is 60. Ben gushed: 'I love the idea of doing a shoot again at the age of 60. There are loads of fitness influencers that aren't just in their twenties and thirties, but in their fifties, sixties and seventies – still doing it, still living, still owning it, still looking fantastic. 'I find that incredibly inspiring. 'I've followed Men's Health religiously for the past 12 years. I will carry on following it, as well. 'There might be a bit more grey in the hair now, but the hairline is still there. 'So why not do it again at 60?' The full interview is available in the June issue of Men's Health UK, on sale now.
